Campgrounds near Reardan, Washington
Reardan sits on US-2 in eastern Washington, roughly 25 minutes west of Spokane and within easy driving distance of the Spokane River corridor and Lake Spokane (also called Long Lake), a reservoir on the Spokane River known for fishing, boating, and wildlife viewing. The surrounding area sits within easy reach of the Colville National Forest and not far from the city of Spokane itself.
RV options range from small private parks to a large state park system. Long Lake Friends & Family RV offers full hook-up sites close to public boat launch access on Long Lake. To the east, Lake Spokane - Riverside State Park puts campers on the water inside a much larger park system. Ruby's Resort & RV, Willow Creek Retreat, and Willow Bay RV Resort and Marina round out the choices for travelers who want lake access, hookups, or a quieter private setting.
Riverside State Park itself is a roughly 10,000-acre park along the Spokane and Little Spokane rivers in Eastern Washington and supports a wide variety of recreational activities, making it the anchor destination for most RV trips based out of Reardan.
Things to do near Reardan
Water recreation dominates the area. Lake Spokane supports boating, swimming, fishing, and water skiing, and Lake Spokane - Riverside State Park has a boat launch and designated swimming area. Willow Bay RV Resort and Marina offers direct marina access for trailered boats. Canoes and kayaks can be rented at the Nine Mile Recreation Area from May 15 to September 15, and St. George's put-in allows access to the calm Little Spokane River for a leisurely paddle downstream.
On land, the park network is extensive. Roughly 100 miles of trails serve hikers, mountain bikers, and equestrians, and Riverside also has a 600-acre ORV riding area. The Centennial Trail is a 40-mile paved trail that runs between the Washington-Idaho state line and the Nine Mile Recreation Area, useful for family bike rides from a base camp at Long Lake Friends & Family RV or Willow Creek Retreat.

July and August bring hot, dry afternoons that are ideal for swimming and paddling but can be warm inside an RV without shade. Wildfire smoke can also affect air quality in mid- to late summer.
Shoulder seasons reward planners. Late spring offers green hills, wildflowers, and quieter sites, while September delivers warm days and cool nights. In winter, Riverside is a hub for snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and snowmobiling in the Off Road Vehicle Area, though most campgrounds in the area close for the season.

How to book campgrounds near Reardan
Washington State Parks sites use a central reservation portal. All sites at Lake Spokane - Riverside State Park are currently reservable, and reservations can be booked up to nine months in advance through the Washington State Parks system. Summer weekends, holidays, and prime lakefront sites typically sell out well ahead of arrival, so locking in dates early is essential.
Private parks book through their own systems or third-party platforms. Long Lake Friends & Family RV, Ruby's Resort & RV, Willow Creek Retreat, and Willow Bay RV Resort and Marina each take direct online reservations. Cell service is limited at some lake sites, so plan ahead and complete any online payments before arrival. Confirm rig length and hookup type at booking, as state park sites and smaller private parks vary widely in what they can accommodate.
What to expect on-site
Facilities vary by campground type. Lake Spokane campground has 10 standard sites plus a companion and a group site, a boat launch, a fishing dock, and a restroom with showers, and the area can accommodate RVs and trailers up to roughly 60 feet at some sites. Private parks such as Long Lake Friends & Family RV offer full hookups in a smaller, quieter setting.
Expect rural conditions away from Spokane. Cell coverage is spotty around Lake Spokane and the Spokane River canyon, mosquitoes are common near water in early summer, and overnight temperatures drop sharply once the sun sets, even in July. Pack layers, bug spray, and extra fresh water, since not all primitive sites have potable water on tap.
Wildlife is part of the experience. Deer, ospreys, and the occasional moose are routine sightings along the Little Spokane River, so store food securely and keep pets leashed in shared areas.

Frequently asked questions about campgrounds near Reardan, WA
How much does an RV rental in Reardan cost, and when can I save the most?
RV rental in Reardan is one of the more affordable ways to explore the Inland Northwest. Travel trailers typically start around $90 to $150 per night, campervans average $125 to $200, and larger Class C motorhomes generally run $175 to $275 per night before fees. Peak pricing hits late June through August when Spokane-area festivals and Lake Roosevelt trips spike demand. For a cheap RV rental in Reardan, target May, September, or early October when the wheat fields are golden and rates ease. Pro tip: filter by Instant Book and longer trip lengths since many local hosts offer weekly discounts. Booking three to four weeks ahead usually locks in the best combination of choice and value.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Reardan%2C+WashingtonWhat license do I need to rent an RV in Reardan, WA?
Great news for first-time renters: your regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Reardan. Washington State does not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or any special endorsement for personal RVs, including Class A motorhomes and fifth wheels you would drive around Lincoln County. To book on RVezy you need to be at least 25 years old, and ID verification happens securely through the platform during checkout. Visiting from outside the U.S.? Bring your home country license plus an International Driving Permit. Most guests are surprised how quickly the booking process moves once their ID is confirmed.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039008774-Understanding-approved-driver-requirementsWhat protection is included with my Reardan RV rental?
Every RV rental in Reardan booked through RVezy includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you are covered from pickup to drop-off. The plan covers physical damage to the RV during your trip, giving you peace of mind without arranging standalone insurance. During checkout you choose your coverage level based on the deductible you are comfortable with, hosts do not set this, you do. Whether you are heading west toward Grand Coulee Dam or south to the Palouse, you are driving with backup. Pro tip: choose a higher-tier plan if it is your first time renting an RV, it lowers your out-of-pocket exposure if anything happens.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat happens if I need to cancel my Reardan RV trip?
Booking is low-risk. RVezy applies a standardized cancellation policy to every reservation, including a money-back grace period right after you book, so you can lock in a great Reardan-area RV without worrying about a final commitment. Refund amounts depend on how far out from your trip you cancel, and extenuating circumstances (like a wildfire smoke event common in eastern Washington summers) may also apply. Hosts do not set this policy, RVezy does, which keeps things consistent across every listing. Pro tip: book early so you have time inside the grace period to confirm your time off, then start mapping your route to Riverside State Park or beyond.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037736674-Understanding-the-cancellation-policy-for-guestsCan I bring my dog on a pet-friendly RV rental in Reardan?
Absolutely, a pet-friendly RV rental in Reardan is easy to find. Just toggle the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy and you'll see hosts who welcome dogs (and sometimes cats) for a small cleaning fee, typically $25 to $75. Eastern Washington is a dream for dog owners: Riverside State Park along the Spokane River has miles of off-leash-friendly trails, Fishtrap Lake Recreation Area south of Reardan allows leashed pets on most BLM land, and Lake Roosevelt's beaches are open to four-legged travelers. Pro tip: message the host before booking to confirm shedding rules and ask about nearby walking spots, they often know dog-friendly trailheads tourists never find.
blm.gov/visit/fishtrapCan the RV be delivered to my campsite near Reardan?
Yes, RV delivery in Reardan is one of the most popular options on the platform, especially for first-timers nervous about towing or driving a motorhome. Many local hosts will deliver to nearby campgrounds like Ponderosa Falls RV Resort in Cheney, Riverside State Park's Bowl and Pitcher campground, or Nine Mile Recreation Area along the Spokane River. They'll level the RV, hook up water and power, and walk you through every system before they leave. Delivery fees typically run $2 to $4 per mile round-trip from the host's home base. Use the Delivery filter when searching to see only hosts who offer this, then message them to confirm your campsite address.
parks.wa.gov/558/RiversideHow far can I drive, and what are mileage policies like in Reardan?
You've got room to roam. Most Reardan-area hosts include 100 to 150 free miles per night, with additional miles priced at $0.30 to $0.50 each. Planning a Reardan RV trip with serious mileage? Look for listings tagged with unlimited mileage, which several local hosts offer for an upgraded nightly rate. From Reardan, popular drives include Grand Coulee Dam (about 65 miles northwest), Spokane (20 miles east), Lake Roosevelt (90 miles north), Coeur d'Alene, Idaho (50 miles east), and the Palouse Falls (110 miles south). Pro tip: if your itinerary tops 600 to 800 total miles, an unlimited-mileage listing almost always beats paying per-mile overage fees.
wsdot.wa.gov/travel/real-time/mapWhere should I stay overnight in an RV near Reardan?
You've got excellent options within a short drive. Some of the best campgrounds near Reardan include Riverside State Park (Bowl and Pitcher Campground) about 25 minutes east with full hookups along the Spokane River, Ponderosa Falls RV Resort in Cheney with a pool and pull-throughs, Fishtrap Lake Resort 20 miles south for quiet fishing weekends, Willow Creek Retreat near Davenport, and Nine Mile Recreation Area on the Spokane River. For RV camping in Reardan itself, several hosts allow on-site stationary stays, basically a pre-set RV in their yard with hookups. Pro tip: Riverside State Park books up months ahead for summer weekends, reserve as soon as your dates are firm.
washington.goingtocamp.com/When is the best time to visit Reardan in an RV?
Reardan shines from late May through early October. June offers wildflower-covered scablands and mild 70 to 80 degree days, July and August bring hot, dry afternoons (85 to 95 degrees) perfect for lake swimming but warm in the RV without shade, and September is the local insider's secret: harvest season, golden wheat fields, cool nights, and clear blue skies. Winter trips are possible but expect snow, icy roads, and overnight lows in the teens, so look for a four-season RV with heated tanks if you're traveling December through February. Pro tip: late September around the Palouse harvest is hands-down the most photogenic time for a Reardan RV trip.
weather.gov/otx/I've never driven an RV before. Will I be okay?
You'll be just fine, and Reardan is actually a great place for a first time renting an RV. The roads around town are wide, flat, and lightly trafficked, perfect for getting comfortable behind the wheel before tackling bigger highways. Every RVezy host provides a full walkthrough at pickup covering the propane, water systems, slide-outs, leveling, and dump procedures, and you can text them throughout your trip with questions. If you'd rather skip driving entirely, choose a delivery-only host who'll set up the RV at your campground. Pro tip: do a short practice loop on Highway 2 west toward Davenport before you commit to a longer route, it's an easy, open stretch to build confidence.
wsdot.wa.gov/travel/highway-safetyWhat if something breaks down during my trip?
You are covered around the clock. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the protection plan, so flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, and towing are handled with one phone call. Your host is also your direct line for RV-specific questions like resetting the inverter or relighting the water heater, and most respond within minutes. Around Reardan, service centers in Spokane (about 20 miles east) can handle larger issues quickly. RVezy customer support is available before, during, and after your trip if anything needs escalating. Pro tip: snap a photo of the roadside assistance number at pickup so it is saved on your phone before you leave cell range.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailCan I take my Reardan RV rental across state lines or into Canada?
Yes, interstate travel is welcome and very common. An RV road trip from Reardan into Idaho, Oregon, or Montana is straightforward, with no special paperwork needed. Coeur d'Alene, Idaho is just 50 miles east, Glacier National Park is about 5 hours northeast, and the Oregon coast is a doable two-day push. Canada trips into British Columbia (Nelson and the Kootenays are popular) are allowed by many hosts, but message them before booking so they can confirm and provide the cross-border insurance documentation you'll need at the Frontier crossing north of Spokane. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals. Pro tip: build in an extra hour at the border crossing during summer weekends.
cbp.gov/travel/us-citizens/know-before-you-goWhat should I budget for fuel on a Reardan RV trip?
Fuel is one of the easier costs to predict. Class B campervans typically get 18 to 22 MPG, Class C motorhomes 8 to 12 MPG, and large Class A or fifth wheel setups 6 to 10 MPG. Eastern Washington gas prices usually run below Seattle-side averages, with stations in Spokane and Davenport offering the best rates near Reardan. A typical 400-mile loop through Grand Coulee, Lake Roosevelt, and back will run roughly $120 to $200 in fuel for a Class C at current prices. Pro tip: fill up in Spokane Valley before heading north on Highway 25 toward Lake Roosevelt, prices climb noticeably once you are past Davenport.
gasprices.aaa.com/state-gas-price-averages/How far ahead should I book campgrounds near Reardan?
Plan ahead and you'll get the best sites. Washington State Parks like Riverside open reservations nine months in advance through the Washington Going to Camp portal, and prime summer weekends fill within hours. For July and August, book 4 to 6 months out. Private parks like Ponderosa Falls RV Resort and Fishtrap Lake usually need 2 to 3 months for peak dates. Shoulder season (May, September) is much more forgiving, often bookable a week or two ahead. Pro tip: if your dates are flexible, search Sunday-through-Thursday stays, you'll often find availability at Riverside State Park even mid-summer, plus quieter trails and fewer neighbors.
washington.goingtocamp.com/What are driving conditions like around Reardan?
Driving around Reardan is genuinely RV-friendly. Highway 2, the main route through town, is a wide two-lane highway with gentle grades and big shoulders, very different from the winding mountain passes west of the Cascades. Watch for crosswinds on the open scablands between Reardan and Davenport, slow down in summer when farm equipment shares the road during harvest, and be aware that wildlife (deer especially) is most active at dawn and dusk. Winter brings black ice and occasional snow squalls, so check WSDOT cameras before heading out December through March. Pro tip: avoid I-90 through Spokane during weekday afternoon rush (3 to 6 PM), Highway 2 east is slower but far more relaxing in an RV.
wsdot.com/travel/real-time/mapWhat amenities can I expect at campgrounds near Reardan?
You'll find a great mix. Most campgrounds within an hour of Reardan offer 30/50-amp electric, fresh water fill, and dump stations on-site. Riverside State Park has flush toilets, hot showers, and a dump station near the Bowl and Pitcher campground. Ponderosa Falls RV Resort offers full hookups, WiFi, a pool, and laundry. Fishtrap Lake Resort has partial hookups and a small store. Need to dump or fill water between stays? Free or low-cost dump stations are available at the Spokane County Fairgrounds and the Flying J in Spokane Valley. Pro tip: top off fresh water before leaving Spokane, the well water at some smaller eastern Washington parks has a strong mineral taste.
parks.wa.gov/558/RiversideWhat's actually inside the RVs I'll find in Reardan?
More than you would expect. A typical motorhome rental in Reardan sleeps 4 to 8 people and includes a full kitchen (fridge, freezer, stove, microwave, sink), a bathroom with shower and toilet, a dinette that converts to a bed, a queen bed, air conditioning, propane heat, and seatbelts for everyone riding while driving. Most Class C and travel trailer listings include a TV, many offer WiFi hotspots or starter cookware kits, and several local hosts include generators for boondocking near Lake Roosevelt. Campervan rental Reardan options (Class B) are smaller but include a kitchenette and bed. Pro tip: filter by sleeps count and check photos carefully, bed configurations vary widely between similar-looking RVs.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Reardan%2C+WashingtonWhat add-ons and pickup options are available for an RV rental in Reardan?
Hosts in Reardan offer plenty of ways to customize your trip. Common add-ons include linen and bedding packages, kitchen kits, camp chairs and outdoor mats, generators, bike racks, and propane fill service. Pickup is usually at the host's home in or near Reardan, but many offer RV delivery to Spokane International Airport (GEG) for fly-in travelers, or directly to your campsite. Add-on pricing is set per listing and shown clearly before checkout. Pro tip: ask the host to leave the RV pre-stocked with a starter propane tank and firewood, several Reardan hosts include small extras like this on request.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Reardan%2C+WashingtonHow does payment and the security deposit work?
Payment is straightforward and secure through the RVezy platform, no cash or off-platform transfers needed. When you book, you pay the rental cost, protection plan, service fee, and any host add-ons by credit card. A refundable security deposit is placed as a hold on your card before pickup and released after the trip once the host confirms the RV was returned in good condition, separate from your booking payment. To protect yourself, do a thorough walkthrough with the host at pickup and photograph any existing scratches or scuffs. Pro tip: time-stamped photos at both pickup and drop-off are the single best way to ensure your full deposit comes back quickly.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-worksIs a Reardan RV trip good for families?
A family RV trip from Reardan is one of the best options in the Pacific Northwest. Kids love the wide-open scablands, Grand Coulee Dam's nightly laser light show in summer, swimming at Lake Roosevelt, and the easy trails at Riverside State Park's Bowl and Pitcher area. Reardan itself has small-town friendliness with a city park and quiet streets perfect for after-dinner bike rides. Filter for RVs that sleep 6 to 8 with bunk beds, and look for hosts offering family add-ons like outdoor games or kid-sized camp chairs. Pro tip: pair a few nights at Riverside State Park with a day trip to Cat Tales Wildlife Center near Mead, it is a guaranteed hit with younger kids.
