Campgrounds and RV parks near Coleman, WI

Coleman sits in Marinette County in northeastern Wisconsin, roughly an hour north of Green Bay. The village works as a practical base for RV trips into the Peshtigo River corridor, the Caldron Falls and High Falls flowages, and the surrounding Northwoods. Most campgrounds within a short drive combine wooded sites with river or lake access, and many cater specifically to RVs with electric hookups and dump stations. Options range from private resorts to a nearby state park. Peshtigo River Campground LLC and Thornton's Rafting Resort and Campground both sit along the Peshtigo River and lean toward paddlers and rafters. Timberline Resort and Campground and Evergreen Park & Campground offer more traditional family RV park amenities. Governor Thompson State Park provides the region's largest public campground, with 100 sites in a family campground that accommodates tents, campers and RVs. The area is rural, so groceries, fuel and RV service should be handled in Coleman, Crivitz or Wausaukee before heading deeper into the forest.

Governor Thompson State Park uses the Wisconsin State Park System reservation platform at wisconsin.goingtocamp.com. Sites can be booked online or by calling 1-888-947-2757, and the booking window opens 11 months before the arrival date. Standard sites are fully reservable; there are no first-come, first-served standard campsites in the state park system. A vehicle admission pass is required on top of the nightly site fee, and nonresidents pay an additional nightly surcharge. Private campgrounds near Coleman, including Peshtigo River Campground LLC, Timberline Resort and Campground, Evergreen Park & Campground, and Thornton's Rafting Resort and Campground, book directly through the campground. Summer weekends and holidays fill early, so reserve as far ahead as possible and confirm site length, hookups and slide-out clearance for the specific RV.
