Winter camping is available at Point Beach, which keeps groomed trails open for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and fat-tire biking, though the shower building closes by late October. Point Beach State Forest sites are wooded and generally level, with 70 of the 127 sites offering electric hookups. Sand dunes block direct lake views from campsites, but the beach is a short walk from most loops. Cell coverage inside the forest is weak; expect to drive toward town for reliable signal. Private parks in the area typically provide water and electric at every site with sewer at many sites, plus laundry, showers, and Wi-Fi of varying strength. Roads into the state forest and to nearby parks are paved and manageable for larger RVs, but interior campground roads can be narrow. Bring insect repellent and drinking water, and buy firewood locally, since Wisconsin allows only certified firewood or wood sourced within 10 miles of the park.
