Interstate 25 and U.S. 20/26 put most regional attractions within a short drive.
The closest developed options for RVers are clustered around Casper. Casper KOA Journey and Casper East RV Park and Campground sit on the north and east sides of town with full-service pull-throughs suitable for larger rigs. Fort Caspar Campground, Rivers Edge RV and Cabins Resort, and Platte River RV and Campground offer sites near the river, walking access to trails, and easy connections to town.
Beyond the private parks, Natrona County manages a system of public campgrounds at Alcova Reservoir, Pathfinder Reservoir, and on Casper Mountain, giving visitors a mix of hookup convenience near town and more primitive lakeside or forested sites within a short drive.
Things to do near Hartrandt
Water recreation drives most summer trips. Alcova Reservoir covers roughly 2,470 surface acres and is the primary recreation area for the Casper region, with boating, waterskiing, swimming, and trout fishing. Pathfinder Reservoir, about 47 miles southwest, adds a quieter, more remote setting with boat ramps and views of the historic 1909 masonry dam.
The North Platte River is a nationally known trout fishery, and the Miracle Mile and Grey Reef stretches draw fly anglers from across the country. Fremont Canyon offers kayaking, canoeing, and rock climbing between the two reservoirs.
In town, families use Fort Caspar Museum, the National Historic Trails Interpretive Center, and the Casper Mountain trail system for hiking, mountain biking, and cooler summer air at higher elevation.

Booking two to three months ahead is recommended for July and August, and for any weekend tied to a rodeo, college event, or hunting season.
Public sites at Alcova Reservoir and on Casper Mountain are managed by the Natrona County Parks Department. Fort Caspar Campground and Platte River RV and Campground sit closer to the river with walking access to trails and historic sites.
Public campgrounds at Alcova, Pathfinder, and on Casper Mountain are more primitive, generally with vault toilets and limited or no hookups outside the full hookup loop at Alcova. Cell service is reliable in town and spotty at the reservoirs.
