Campgrounds and RV parks near Laporte, CO

Water recreation drives most trip plans. Horsetooth Reservoir offers 6.5 miles of water for boating, fishing, water-skiing, and swimming at designated beaches, surrounded by hiking and mountain-biking trails on Larimer County open space. Boyd Lake State Park adds sailing, jet skiing, a swim beach, and a paved trail connected to Loveland's recreational path system. The Cache la Poudre River, Colorado's only nationally designated Wild and Scenic River, runs right past Laporte and is a hub for whitewater rafting, kayaking, tubing, and fly fishing. Lory State Park and the trails around Horsetooth Rock cover hiking and horseback riding in the foothills. Old Town Fort Collins is about ten minutes south, with breweries, restaurants, and the Colorado State University campus. Rocky Mountain National Park is roughly an hour by car via Estes Park.

Elevation in and around Laporte runs from roughly 5,000 feet in town to about 5,430 feet at Horsetooth Reservoir.
