Campgrounds and RV parks near Lyman, WY

Lyman sits in the Bridger Valley of southwest Wyoming, just off Interstate 80, roughly seven miles from the Fort Bridger State Historic Site. The town serves as a practical overnight or multi-night stop for RV travelers crossing I-80, with easy access, grassy sites, and views toward the Uinta Mountains to the south. RV options cluster tightly around town and along the I-80 corridor. Fort Bridger RV Camp and Lyman KOA Journey provide full-service amenities including electric hookups, water, sewer, and shower facilities for both RV and tent campers. Homestead RV Park and Foothills Mobile Home & RV Park round out the in-town choices, while Riverside RV Park - Kemmerer sits north of the valley for travelers heading toward Fossil Butte National Monument. The area works well as a base for day trips. The Bridger Valley served as a crossroads for the Oregon/California Trail, the Mormon Trail, the Pony Express Route, the Transcontinental Railroad and the Lincoln Highway, and today the valley in southwestern Wyoming is a historic byway incorporating the small towns of Fort Bridger, Urie, Mountain View and Lyman. Flaming Gorge lies to the south for boating and fishing, and the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest sits just across the Utah line.

Private RV parks in and around Lyman take direct reservations by phone or through their websites, and KOA members can book Lyman KOA Journey through the KOA app or koa.com. Summer weekends and the Labor Day rendezvous fill first, so lock in dates several weeks out for peak-season travel. Check-in windows can be tight at some parks, particularly for late arrivals during shoulder season when office hours shorten. Calling ahead is the safest approach if arrival will be after early evening, and confirming any pet, rig-length, or hookup requirements at booking avoids surprises on site. Public land options require different systems. Reservable Forest Service sites in the nearby Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest are booked through Recreation.gov, while dispersed camping is available on surrounding public land, though these sites lack amenities and operate first-come, first-served.
