Arkansas River Rim Campground & RV Park is located along the banks of the Arkansas River, approximately six miles north of Buena Vista on Highway 24 in Colorado's scenic upper Arkansas River Valley. Known as the only park in the area offering direct riverside access, this campground sits backed against the forest, providing a natural and tranquil atmosphere in the heart of the Rockies. The region, often called the "Banana Belt of the Rockies," enjoys pleasant summer temperatures and cool mountain nights. Campers can enjoy full hookups including 30 and 50-amp electrical, water, and sewer connections, along with pull-through sites suitable for big rigs. On-site amenities include fire pits, picnic tables, laundry facilities, restrooms, a dump station, RV storage, firewood, and Wi-Fi. The campground is pet-friendly and welcomes tent campers, hammock campers, and RV travelers alike. Wildlife such as chipmunks, cottontails, and hummingbirds are frequent visitors. The surrounding Buena Vista area offers world-class kayaking, whitewater rafting, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, four-wheeling, and skiing. Nearby scenic highways lead to gold mines, golf courses, and towering pine forests, making Arkansas River Rim an ideal base camp for exploring the Colorado high country.
