Newaygo State Park is a scenic 400-acre Michigan state park nestled along the shores of Hardy Dam Pond, a 6-mile impoundment of the Muskegon River in Newaygo, Michigan. Perched atop 20-foot embankments with sweeping water views, the park offers 99 rustic campsites across two well-spaced, forested campgrounds — Oak and Poplar — each featuring large, private sites with 20- to 30-foot tree buffers for added seclusion. Campers enjoy direct access to Hardy Dam Pond for fishing (bass, walleye, and panfish), swimming in a buoyed swim area, and boating from an on-site launch. Kayak rentals are available through the campground office. The park also features picnic tables, grills, a playground, fire rings, firewood, a dump station, water hookups, and restroom facilities. An 18-basket disc golf course adds a unique recreational option, while a 2-mile segment of the Dragon Trail winds along the embankment with panoramic pond views.
