Campground in Parksville, BC
$$$$$Rathtrevor Beach Provincial Park is a beloved campground located just south of Parksville on Vancouver Island's central coast in British Columbia, Canada. Set within majestic old-growth woodland, the park features a stunning 2 km sandy beach where the tide recedes nearly one kilometre, revealing a vast tidal zone perfect for exploration. All campsites are nestled among towering trees and sit within a five-minute walk of the beach, offering a seamless blend of forest and ocean. Campers can enjoy picnic tables, a dump station, water hookups, fire pits with firewood available, grills, and a playground for families. The park boasts 5.5 km of mostly wheelchair-accessible hiking trails winding through the old-growth forest, along with swimming in the warm shallow waters at high tide, saltwater fishing, kayaking, and cycling. Wildlife enthusiasts will appreciate excellent birdwatching, including migrating Brant geese from February through April, as well as sightings of deer, otters, mink, and raptors. Interpretive programs are offered through Discover Parks Ambassadors. 2011 Airstream Travel Trailer
We had the most wonderful experience staying in this airstream. Our family of 4 fit comfortably for our Rathtevor camping trip, our kids 7&9 fit comfortable, one in the dinette and the other on a comfy air mattress in the aisle way. Our son chose to pitch a tent outside the 2nd night which worked well and gave us more space. It was clean, well equipped, and beautiful! The water was hot, a quick shower and space for kitchen prep and clean up felt luxurious compared to our usual tent camping. It left us dreaming of an airstream purchase one day, but for now Ollie the airstream will be our go-to! Thank you Shelby.

Dan was punctual, informative and quick to answer any in trip questions-even after by text. RV came with cookware/coffee machine/kettle, towels, toaster etc. A few supply items that could have been included were shared at trip end date and Dan very open to this feedback. The bunk room beds more suitable for children than for adults & could benefit from better foam mattresses. The Master bed comfortable and cozy. Fridge, freezer were fantastic . Nice outdoor grill was a great. Dan kindly included a generator for our use -this was good as sun was not great during trip - which impacted the solar. I have nothing to compare to as this was my first rv’ing vacay but others with me familiar commented on how nice his rig was. We did not get to utilize all the extras (outdoor shower/tether system for electronics ). Dan included Extra camp chairs for our use. I did love the stay and yes, I would book with Dan again without hesitation.

We enjoyed our dry & comfortable stay in The Hideout. Queen bed was very comfortable. The trailer was well stocked with everything you’d need. Scott & Alodie were great hosts, everything was set up and ready when we arrived. Communication was great throughout. Would definitely love to rent again.
