Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Delhi, ON
How much does it cost to rent an RV in Delhi, Ontario?
An RV rental in Delhi, Ontario is one of the more affordable ways to explore Norfolk County and Ontario's South Coast. On RVezy, you'll generally find travel trailers starting around CAD $100 to $175 per night, Class C motorhomes from roughly $200 to $300 per night, and larger Class A motorhomes between $250 and $400 per night, depending on age, size, and season. For a cheap RV rental in Delhi, look at travel trailers from local hosts and book midweek stays in May, June, or September when prices drop. Pro tip: filter by Instant Book and stack a weekly discount (offered by many hosts) to save another 10 to 20 percent on a Long Point getaway.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Delhi%2C%20OntarioWhat kind of driver's licence do I need to rent an RV in Delhi, Ontario?
Good news, your regular Ontario Class G licence is all you need for almost every RV rental in Delhi. As of July 1, 2025, Ontario simplified the rules: you can drive any motorhome up to 11,000 kg, including most Class A, Class B campervans, and Class C motorhomes, on a full Class G. Travel trailers and fifth wheels under typical RVezy weight limits are also covered. Visiting from another province, a U.S. state, or abroad? Your valid home licence works in Ontario for short visits. All RVezy guests must be 25 or older, and you'll confirm your ID right inside the platform during booking, no special RV licence required.
ontario.ca/page/driving-recreational-vehicle-rvIs the RV covered if something happens during my trip?
Yes, every booking on RVezy automatically includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can rent an RV in Delhi with real peace of mind. The protection plan covers most physical damage to the vehicle during your trip, and you choose your coverage level (not the host) during checkout, picking the option that fits your comfort and budget. It provides meaningful financial protection if the unexpected happens on a back road near Long Point or in a campground at Turkey Point. Pro tip: review the coverage tiers carefully at booking, the top tier lowers your responsibility amount and is popular with first-time renters.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat is the cancellation policy if my Delhi RV trip plans change?
Booking is low-risk. RVezy sets a clear cancellation policy that applies to every reservation, and it includes a money-back grace period after you book so you can lock in dates with confidence. Refunds beyond that window depend on factors like how far out you cancel and circumstances such as natural disasters, which matter in southern Ontario where Lake Erie storms can occasionally affect travel. Hosts don't set their own cancellation rules on RVezy, the policy is consistent platform-wide. Pro tip: book early to secure the best Norfolk County rigs for summer weekends, knowing the grace period has your back in the first hours after checkout.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037736674-Understanding-the-cancellation-policy-for-guestsCan I bring my dog on an RV rental in Delhi, Ontario?
Absolutely, pet-friendly RV rental in Delhi is easy to find. On RVezy, just toggle the Pet-Friendly filter and you'll see plenty of trailers and motorhomes from local hosts who welcome dogs. Norfolk County is a great place to bring your pup: Quance Park along Big Creek has shaded paths perfect for a walk, the Lynn Valley Trail (running from Port Dover toward Simcoe) is leash-friendly, and Long Point Provincial Park allows pets on most campsites and on a designated pet beach area. Pro tip: message the host before booking to mention your dog's size and breed, and ask about cleaning expectations so check-out goes smoothly.
ontarioparks.ca/park/longpointCan the RV be delivered to my campground or driveway in Delhi?
Yes, RV delivery in Delhi is offered by many RVezy hosts and it's the easiest way to start your trip, especially if it's your first time renting an RV. The host drives the motorhome or travel trailer to your chosen spot, levels it, hooks up water and power, and walks you through every system before handing over the keys. Popular drop-off spots include Long Point Provincial Park in Port Rowan (about 35 km south), Turkey Point Provincial Park (around 25 km south), and private campgrounds like Sandhill Park near La Salette. Pro tip: filter by Delivery on RVezy and message hosts for a delivery quote, fees usually scale by distance from Delhi.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Delhi%2C%20OntarioHow does mileage work, and how far can I drive from Delhi?
Mileage is flexible on RVezy: many hosts include a generous daily allowance (often 200 to 300 km per day), and you'll find listings advertising RV rental with unlimited mileage, which is ideal for longer Ontario road trips. From Delhi, you're perfectly positioned for short hops and bigger adventures: Long Point Provincial Park is about 35 km south, Niagara Falls is roughly 160 km east (about 2 hours), Toronto sits 150 km northeast, and Point Pelee National Park is about 200 km west. Pro tip: check the listing's mileage policy before booking and, if you're planning a big loop, filter specifically for unlimited mileage rigs to skip overage worries entirely.
ontarioparks.ca/park/pointpeleeWhat are the best campgrounds near Delhi, Ontario for RV camping?
You're spoiled for choice when it comes to RV camping in Delhi. The best campgrounds near Delhi include Long Point Provincial Park in Port Rowan (about 35 km south), with four campgrounds, electrical sites, and a 1.5 km Lake Erie beach; Turkey Point Provincial Park (around 25 km south), known for shady wooded sites and warm shallow swimming; Selkirk Provincial Park east along the Lake Erie shore; Deer Creek Conservation Area near Vittoria with quiet electrical sites; and Sandhill Park in La Salette, a family-favourite private park with full hookups. Pro tip: book provincial park sites the moment your five-month booking window opens on the Ontario Parks reservation site, summer weekends sell out fast.
ontarioparks.ca/park/longpointWhen is the best time of year for an RV trip from Delhi?
Late May through mid-October is the sweet spot for a Delhi, Ontario RV trip, with peak conditions from June through September. Summer daytime highs in Norfolk County typically run 24 to 28 C (75 to 82 F), perfect for Lake Erie beaches and lavender farm visits. June brings the Delhi Strawberry Festival, August offers warm lake swimming, and September delivers crisp days, fewer crowds, and the Delhi Harvest Fest. Spring (May) and fall (October) are excellent for birding at Long Point, a globally important migration stopover. Pro tip: target the second and third weeks of September for the best mix of warm weather, open campgrounds, and lower nightly rates on RVezy.
ontarioparks.ca/park/longpointI've never driven an RV before, will I be okay?
You'll do great, and Delhi is actually one of the friendlier places in Ontario to learn. Every RVezy host gives you a hands-on walkthrough at pickup covering driving, hookups, water systems, the generator, and slide-outs, so you're never left guessing. Norfolk County's quiet rural highways like Highway 3 and Highway 59 around Delhi are wide, flat, and low-traffic, which is ideal if it's your first time renting an RV. Start with a short trip down to Turkey Point or Long Point to build confidence before tackling longer drives. Pro tip: choose a Class C motorhome or smaller campervan rental in Delhi for your first trip, they drive much like a large van or pickup truck.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039008774-Understanding-approved-driver-requirementsWhat happens if I have a breakdown or mechanical issue during my trip?
You're covered. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the renter protection plan, so help is one phone call away whether you're parked at Long Point Provincial Park, cruising Highway 3 toward Simcoe, or stopped at a winery in Norfolk County. Roadside services include towing, tire changes, jump starts, lockout help, and fuel delivery. Your host is also a quick message away through the RVezy app for questions about a specific system of their RV. Pro tip: save the RVezy roadside number and your host's number in your phone before you leave Delhi, then snap photos of the dash gauges at pickup so you have a baseline if anything seems off later.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailCan I take my Delhi RV rental across the border into the United States?
Often yes, cross-border travel from Delhi into New York, Michigan, Ohio, or Pennsylvania is allowed by many RVezy hosts, since Delhi sits less than 90 minutes from the Peace Bridge at Fort Erie and about two hours from the Detroit-Windsor crossing. You'll just need to message the host before booking to confirm U.S. travel is approved on their listing and that insurance/protection coverage extends across the border. Important: travel into Mexico is not permitted on any RVezy rental due to insurance limitations. Pro tip: bring your passport, vehicle ownership/insurance documents the host provides, and a written travel authorization letter from the host, Canada Border Services and U.S. Customs may ask to see it.
cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/menu-eng.htmlWhat kind of fuel economy and gas budget should I plan for?
Plan a realistic fuel budget and you'll have zero surprises on your Delhi RV trip. Class B campervans average around 9 to 11 L/100km (22 to 26 MPG), Class C motorhomes run roughly 16 to 20 L/100km (12 to 15 MPG), and larger Class A motorhomes use 20 to 28 L/100km (8 to 12 MPG). Gas prices in the Delhi and Norfolk County area typically sit close to the southwestern Ontario average. For a 500 km loop, say Delhi to Niagara Falls and back through Hamilton, budget roughly CAD $120 to $200 in fuel for a mid-size motorhome. Pro tip: fuel up in Simcoe or Tillsonburg before heading toward Long Point, rural stations farther down the peninsula can charge a few cents more per litre.
ontario.ca/page/gasoline-pricesHow far in advance should I book a campground near Delhi?
For the best campgrounds near Delhi, book as early as you can, Ontario Parks opens reservations exactly five months ahead of your arrival date at 7:00 a.m. EST through the Ontario Parks reservation system. For peak July and August weekends at Long Point, Turkey Point, or Selkirk Provincial Park, set a calendar reminder and book the morning the window opens. Long Point Conservation Authority sites like Deer Creek and Waterford Ponds use a separate reservation system and tend to open earlier in the year. Pro tip: midweek nights (Sunday to Wednesday) are far easier to grab, and if a weekend looks sold out, use a cancellation alert service since released sites pop up daily.
reservations.ontarioparks.com/What are the driving conditions like in and around Delhi?
Driving an RV around Delhi is refreshingly easy. The town sits at the junction of Highway 3 and Highway 59, both wide, flat, well-maintained two-lane highways with light traffic outside summer weekends. Norfolk County's terrain is gently rolling farmland (think tobacco, ginseng, and lavender fields), so you won't face steep grades or mountain passes. Watch for slow-moving farm equipment in spring and fall, and stay alert for white-tailed deer at dusk on rural roads. Winter (December through March) can bring lake-effect snow off Lake Erie, so most RVezy hosts in the area focus on May through October rentals. Pro tip: avoid Highway 3 westbound on summer Friday afternoons when cottage traffic peaks heading to Long Point.
511on.ca/What amenities will I find at campgrounds near Delhi?
Campgrounds around Delhi are well-equipped for a smooth RV camping experience. At Long Point Provincial Park, nearly half of the 400-plus sites have 15 or 30 amp electrical service, and you'll find comfort stations with hot showers and flush toilets, a trailer sanitation (dump) station, and potable water fill points. Turkey Point Provincial Park offers similar amenities with electrical sites and showers. Private parks like Sandhill Park in La Salette typically provide full hookups (water, power, sewer), Wi-Fi, and laundry. Most provincial parks do not offer sewer hookups at individual sites, so you'll dump on the way out. Pro tip: top up your fresh water tank in Delhi before heading to Long Point, the dump and fill station can get busy on Sunday checkouts.
ontarioparks.ca/park/longpoint/campingWhat's actually inside the RV, beds, kitchen, bathroom, Wi-Fi?
More than you might expect. Most RVezy motorhome rentals in Delhi come fully equipped: a real bed (queen or king is common), bunks or convertible dinettes for kids, a kitchen with fridge/freezer, propane stove, microwave, sink, and cookware, plus a bathroom with shower and toilet. Air conditioning, furnace heat, and a TV are standard in most Class A and C motorhomes, and many hosts include a generator for off-grid power. Seatbelts are available for the rated number of passengers in each rig. Wi-Fi varies, some hosts include a mobile hotspot as an add-on. Pro tip: check the listing's full amenities list and message the host if you need specifics like a king bed, outdoor shower, or kid-friendly features.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Delhi%2C%20OntarioWhat add-ons and pickup options should I know about before booking?
RVezy hosts in Delhi offer plenty of useful add-ons to customize your trip: bedding and linen packages (often $25 to $75), kitchen kits, camping chairs, BBQs, bike racks, generators, and even kayaks or fishing gear. Pickup is usually at the host's address in or near Delhi, with delivery available to nearby campgrounds like Long Point, Turkey Point, or Sandhill Park for an extra fee that scales with distance. Mileage policies vary, common allowances are 200 to 300 km per day with overage charged per kilometre, and some listings offer unlimited mileage. Pro tip: bundle delivery, setup, and a linen package on your first booking, the small extra cost transforms your Delhi RV trip into a near hotel-style experience.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Delhi%2C%20OntarioHow does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?
Payment is straightforward and secure. When you book an RV rental in Delhi, Ontario through RVezy, you pay the rental cost, protection plan, and any add-ons directly through the platform using a credit card, no cash or e-transfer to the host. A refundable security deposit is held separately from the booking payment (typically $500 to $1,500 depending on the RV) before your trip and released back to your card after a smooth return with no damage or excessive cleaning needed. Pro tip: take a short video walkaround of the RV at both pickup and drop-off, sharing it through the RVezy message thread, this simple step protects both you and the host and helps ensure a fast deposit refund after your Norfolk County adventure.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-worksWhat are the best road trip routes from Delhi, Ontario?
An RV road trip from Delhi puts some of Ontario's best scenery within easy reach. Top routes include the Lake Erie South Coast Loop (Delhi to Port Dover to Long Point to Port Rowan, about 90 km of beaches and harbour villages), the Niagara Wine Country run (Delhi to Niagara-on-the-Lake, roughly 175 km east, ideal for a 3-day getaway), the Bruce Peninsula adventure (Delhi to Tobermory, about 300 km north for cliffs and turquoise water), and Point Pelee National Park (200 km west, Canada's southernmost mainland point and a birding hotspot). Pro tip: pair a Norfolk County winery and lavender farm day in Delhi with two nights at Long Point Provincial Park, it's the quintessential first RVezy trip in the region.
