An Absolutely Wonderful Experience – Highly Recommended! We had an absolutely fantastic experience from beginning to end! The motorhome was exactly as described, well maintained, clean, comfortable, and perfectly suited for our Canadian adventure. Everything worked wonderfully, and we couldn’t have been happier. What truly made this trip exceptional, however, was our host, Steve. He is an incredibly kind, warm-hearted, helpful, and genuinely wonderful person who went above and beyond to make our journey unforgettable. His outstanding support in planning our route, sharing valuable recommendations, and helping us prepare for the trip made an enormous difference. His kindness, patience, and dedication were truly exceptional. Thanks in large part to his assistance, we enjoyed one of the most memorable and enjoyable trips we have ever taken. It is rare to meet someone who cares so much about his guests and their experience. We feel genuinely fortunate to have met Steve and are extremely grateful for everything he did for us. We wholeheartedly recommend both Steve and his motorhome without the slightest hesitation. If you are considering renting from him, you can book with complete confidence. You will not only get a great motorhome but also an outstanding host who truly cares. Five stars are simply not enough! Thank you so much, Steve, for everything. We hope to see you again someday! Warmest regards, Lothar & Ilona

Jason and Gina were excellent hosts.I don't want to say too much in case we were being spoilt but they are genuinely great people. RV was spotless, clean, cooled and full of water and petrol. We were newbies to RVing and any questions we had Jason answered quickly by what's app. Pick up and drop off were flawless and times were very flexible. Jason also dropped us back to the airport which was very handy. We would recommend hiring from Jason and Gina and he has some other trailers he rents out also.

Sarah was a wonderful host. It was so easy to communicate with her and she was always quick to respond. The camper had everything you needed and she informed you of what you would need as the guest. It was easy to get the camper and it was fun to have and easy to pull, to bad we were only using it for a quick trip just for sleeping. I would recommend the camper to anyone.

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Fort Erie, ON
How much does it cost to rent an RV in Fort Erie, ON?
An RV rental in Fort Erie is one of the more affordable ways to experience the Niagara region. On RVezy, you'll typically find travel trailers from around $100 to $175 CAD per night, Class C motorhomes from about $200 to $300, and larger Class A motorhomes from around $275 to $425, with exact pricing varying by season, age, and amenities. Prices climb during peak summer (late June through Labour Day) when Crystal Beach and Niagara Falls visitors arrive in force. For a cheap RV rental in Fort Erie, target shoulder weeks in May, early June, or September when many hosts offer lower nightly rates. Pro tip: filter for delivery options and you'll often save the cost of a tow vehicle and the stress of driving across the Peace Bridge.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Fort%20Erie%2C%20OntarioWhat kind of driver's license do I need to rent an RV in Fort Erie?
Great news for first-time renters: your regular full Class G Ontario driver's license is all you need for almost every RV on RVezy in Fort Erie, including Class B campervans, Class C motorhomes, and most travel trailers. In Ontario, a Class G license covers RVs and trailer combinations up to 11,000 kg; anything heavier requires a Class A or D license, which is rare for personal RV rentals. You must be 25 or older to be an approved driver on RVezy, and ID verification is handled right in the app. Visiting from the US or overseas? Your valid home-country license works for short visits, and an International Driving Permit is a smart backup if your license isn't in English or French. That's it, you're cleared to cross the Peace Bridge and go.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039008774-Understanding-approved-driver-requirementsIs the RV covered in case something happens during my trip?
Yes, every RVezy booking in Fort Erie includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can drive the Niagara Parkway with real peace of mind. You choose your protection level at checkout (Basic, Standard, or Premium), and higher tiers come with a lower deductible if there's accidental damage to the RV during your trip. The plan covers most accidental physical damage to the vehicle and is built into your booking, so there's no separate policy to arrange. If you get a flat near Crystal Beach or a battery dies at Old Fort Erie, one call to RVezy's roadside line gets help on the way. Book confidently, the safety net is built in.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat if I need to cancel my Fort Erie RV rental?
Plans change, and RVezy has you covered with a standardized cancellation policy that applies to every booking. You get a short grace period right after booking where you can cancel for a full refund, and after that the refund amount depends on how far out you cancel relative to your trip start date. The cancellation policy is set by RVezy, not by individual hosts, so you'll get consistent treatment whether you're renting a campervan for Crystal Beach or a Class A for the Niagara wine route. If your host has to cancel, RVezy will help you with a refund or rebooking credit. Pro tip: book early to lock in summer dates around Fort Erie, you'll have flexibility either way.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037736674-Understanding-the-cancellation-policy-for-guestsCan I bring my dog on an RV rental in Fort Erie?
Absolutely, pet-friendly RV rental in Fort Erie is easy to find on RVezy, just toggle the Pet-Friendly filter and you'll see plenty of listings where dogs are welcome. Fort Erie is genuinely dog-loving: the Friendship Trail along the old rail line between Fort Erie and Port Colborne is a great long dog-walking route, and Rock Point Provincial Park (about an hour west) has off-leash and pet-friendly beach areas. Some hosts charge a pet fee, which is listed right on the page. Pro tip: message the host before booking to confirm any size limits or shedding rules, most are happy to say yes.
ontarioparks.ca/park/rockpointCan the RV be delivered to my campground or rental cottage?
Yes, RV delivery in Fort Erie is one of the most popular options on RVezy, especially for first-time renters who'd rather skip towing or driving a big rig across the Peace Bridge. Many hosts will deliver your motorhome rental in Fort Erie directly to Sun Retreats Sherkston Shores, Windmill Point Park, Rock Point Provincial Park, or a private cottage in Crystal Beach or Ridgeway. They'll level it, hook up water and power, and walk you through every switch, slide-out, and tank before they leave. Delivery fees and minimums vary by host and distance and are shown on each listing. Filter by Delivery on the RVezy search page to see who offers it, you'll be sipping coffee at your site before you know it.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Fort%20Erie%2C%20OntarioHow far can I travel from Fort Erie on an RV road trip?
You can cover serious ground on an RV road trip from Fort Erie. Most hosts include a daily mileage allowance, and many offer unlimited mileage packages, just check each listing's mileage policy before booking. Popular runs include Niagara Falls (about 30 km, 25 minutes), Niagara-on-the-Lake wine country (about 55 km along the scenic Niagara Parkway), Toronto (about 135 km, roughly 90 minutes via the QEW), Long Point Provincial Park on Lake Erie (about 160 km), and Algonquin Provincial Park (around 450 km if you want a true northern escape). Pro tip: if you're planning more than 150 km a day, message the host and ask about an unlimited mileage add-on, it often costs less than per-km overage fees.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Fort%20Erie%2C%20OntarioWhat are the best campgrounds near Fort Erie for RV camping?
You're spoiled for choice when it comes to RV camping in Fort Erie. Top picks: Sun Retreats Sherkston Shores (huge family resort with a private Lake Erie beach, water park, and full hookups), Windmill Point Park & Marina in Ridgeway (lakefront sites about 20 minutes from Niagara Falls), and Rock Point Provincial Park in nearby Dunnville (fossil beds on the beach and a fall monarch butterfly migration). Niagara Falls / Grand Island KOA Holiday and Niagara Falls Campground & Lodging are also short drives north for easy Falls access. Pro tip: book Sherkston Shores and Windmill Point by February for July and August weekends, they fill up fast.
ontarioparks.ca/park/rockpointWhen is the best time to rent an RV in Fort Erie?
Fort Erie's sweet spot runs from late May through early October, with July and August typically hitting daily highs around 26 to 28"C and warm Lake Erie water perfect for Crystal Beach. June is the local insider's pick: warm days (around 22 to 25"C), fewer crowds at Old Fort Erie, and lower nightly rates. September is great too, with monarch butterflies migrating through Rock Point and fall colours starting along the Niagara Parkway. Winters are cold (regularly below freezing from December to February) and most campgrounds close by mid-October, so plan your Fort Erie RV trip between May and Thanksgiving weekend. Pro tip: if you want quieter campgrounds, avoid the Canada Day long weekend when the Friendship Festival draws big crowds to the waterfront.
climate.weather.gc.ca/climate_normals/index_e.htmlI've never driven an RV before. Is Fort Erie a good place to start?
Fort Erie is genuinely one of the most beginner-friendly places to rent an RV in Ontario. The terrain is flat, traffic outside the Peace Bridge crossing is generally light, and most local campgrounds have wide pull-through sites that are easy to park. Every RVezy host gives you a full walkthrough at pickup covering propane, water, holding tanks, generator, and slide-outs, and you can call or text them mid-trip with questions. First time renting an RV? Pick a Class C or smaller travel trailer (around 24 to 28 feet), choose delivery so the host parks it for you at Sherkston Shores or Windmill Point, and do a short shakedown trip to Rock Point before heading further. You'll feel like a pro by day two.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Fort%20Erie%2C%20OntarioWhat happens if I break down or have a problem during my trip?
You're never on your own. Every RVezy rental in Fort Erie includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the renter protection plan, covering things like flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, towing, and fuel delivery across Canada and the continental US. One phone call dispatches a technician, whether you're parked at Bay Beach, on the QEW heading to Toronto, or pulled over on the Niagara Parkway. Your host is also a quick text away for RV-specific questions like how to switch the fridge to propane. Pro tip: save the RVezy support number in your phone before pickup, and snap photos of the breaker panel and propane valve so you can show the technician exactly what you're looking at.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailCan I take my Fort Erie RV rental across the border into the US?
Often yes, but it depends on the host. Fort Erie sits right at the Peace Bridge, with Buffalo just minutes across the Niagara River, and many RVezy hosts welcome trips into New York for Niagara Falls USA, Letchworth State Park, or the Finger Lakes. Some hosts restrict their RV to Canada only for insurance reasons, so confirm cross-border travel in writing with your host before booking using the RVezy message thread. Travel to Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals. Pro tip: have your passport ready, declare any food, alcohol, and tobacco at the border, and use the NEXUS lane if you're a member, the Peace Bridge can back up on summer weekends.
cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/travel-voyage/menu-eng.htmlWhat kind of fuel mileage should I budget for in Fort Erie?
Budgeting for fuel is easier than you think. Expect roughly 18 to 25 L/100 km for a Class A motorhome, 15 to 20 L/100 km for a Class C, 11 to 14 L/100 km for a Class B campervan, and 14 to 20 L/100 km for a truck-and-travel-trailer combo depending on the tow vehicle. Gas prices in Fort Erie are usually similar to or slightly lower than Niagara Falls, and Costco on Pin Oak Drive is often the cheapest fill-up in town. Some drivers cross to Buffalo for US fuel, but factor in border wait times. Pro tip: fill up in Fort Erie before heading west toward Rock Point or Long Point, gas stations thin out fast once you leave the Niagara corridor.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Fort%20Erie%2C%20OntarioHow far in advance should I book a campground near Fort Erie?
Book early and you'll thank yourself. Ontario Parks opens reservations exactly five months ahead of your arrival date through the Ontario Parks reservation service, and Rock Point Provincial Park's lakefront and electrical sites can disappear within hours for July and August weekends. Private parks like Sun Retreats Sherkston Shores and Windmill Point Park take bookings many months out, with serious renters locking in by January or February. For a last-minute Fort Erie RV trip in shoulder season (late May, June, or September), you can often find sites a week or two ahead. Pro tip: midweek stays are way easier to book and many campgrounds discount Sunday-to-Thursday rates.
reservations.ontarioparks.ca/What are the driving conditions like around Fort Erie?
Driving in Fort Erie is refreshingly easy, especially compared to bigger cities. The terrain is flat, roads are well-maintained, and the QEW (Queen Elizabeth Way) connects you straight to Niagara Falls, Hamilton, and Toronto. The Peace Bridge into Buffalo is the busiest stretch, with waits that can range from a few minutes to over an hour on summer weekends and holidays. The Niagara Parkway is a slow, scenic two-lane road that's great for an RV cruise. Watch for sudden lake-effect rain off Lake Erie in spring and fall, and crosswinds on the Garden City Skyway near St. Catharines. Pro tip: check live border wait times before you cross and avoid the Peace Bridge Friday afternoons if you can.
511on.ca/What amenities can I expect at campgrounds near Fort Erie?
Local campgrounds are well-equipped for RVers. Sun Retreats Sherkston Shores and Windmill Point Park & Marina offer 30/50 amp electrical, water hookups, sewer at many sites, Wi-Fi, laundry, hot showers, pools, and on-site stores. Rock Point Provincial Park has electrical sites, a dump and fill station, modern comfort stations with showers, and a park store with firewood and ice. Need to dump tanks between trips? Use the sanitation station at Rock Point or the dump at Sherkston Shores (small fee for non-guests). Potable water is easy to find at any of the major parks. Pro tip: book an electrical site if you plan to run air conditioning in July or August, generator use is restricted at Ontario provincial parks.
ontarioparks.ca/park/rockpointWhat's inside a typical RV rental in Fort Erie?
You'll be impressed by how loaded these RVs are. A typical Class C motorhome rental in Fort Erie sleeps 4 to 7 and comes with a queen bed, full kitchen (fridge/freezer, three-burner stove, microwave, sink), bathroom with toilet and shower, dinette, roof A/C, furnace, awning, and seatbelts for travel. Many hosts include kitchen kits (pots, plates, utensils), bedding, towels, outdoor chairs, and a hose and electrical cable starter pack. Class B campervan rentals are more compact but include the essentials plus great fuel economy. Generators, solar, and TV/Wi-Fi boosters vary by listing, just check the amenities list on each profile. Pro tip: message the host to confirm bedding and kitchen kits are included, they usually are but it's worth a quick check before packing.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Fort%20Erie%2C%20OntarioWhat add-ons and pickup options should I know about?
RVezy hosts in Fort Erie offer plenty of helpful add-ons that make your trip smoother. Common extras: delivery and setup, bedding and linen packages, kitchen kits, outdoor chairs, BBQ rental, generator use, bike racks, extra mileage packages, and pet fees. Pickup is typically in the early afternoon and dropoff before late morning, though many hosts are flexible if you ask in advance. Mileage policies range from a daily allowance to unlimited, listed right on each profile. Pro tip: if you want a true family RV trip in Fort Erie without packing the kitchen sink, bundle the linen kit, kitchen kit, and outdoor chairs at booking, you'll arrive at Sherkston Shores with almost nothing to set up.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Fort%20Erie%2C%20OntarioHow does payment and the security deposit work?
Payment is simple and secure, you pay through RVezy with a credit card right at booking, no cash or e-transfers exchanged with the host. The security deposit is a separate pre-authorization placed on your card before the trip starts and released after dropoff once the host confirms the RV came back in good shape, typically within a few days. Deposit amounts vary by RV and are shown on each listing. To avoid any issues: do the pre-trip walkthrough carefully, take photos of any existing scratches or dings, and return the RV with the same fuel and propane level you got it, dumping tanks if your contract requires it. Pro tip: keep your gas receipts, they're proof if there's ever a fuel-level dispute.
