2023 Ford Campervan
The van was very similar to driving a car. Tyler was available by phone and text, though we didn't need much help as he provided detailed instructions and everything was well designed and easy to operate. The pick up and drop off were great too as he was very flexible. We had a great time and the dog loved it too!

Renting this RV was a positive experience. Bryan and his wife made the process incredibly smooth, providing a very upkept RV. Though I only needed it overnight, (for an event) it was very well stocked with everything needed for an extended trip. I marked 5 stars for communication because he was so helpful and excellent to ensure everything went smoothly. This of course made pickup/drop-off a breeze, and the RV drove beautifully. HIGHLY recommended for a hassle-free, comfortable adventure. Thanks again Bryan.

Beautiful, clean, well appointed and easy to drive RV with intuitive controls. J was easy to reach and very helpful. Drove from Michigan to North Carolina and back in snow in gusting winds and I didn’t have to fight the vehicle to stay on the road. Visibility was superb. I highly recommend and would rent this RV again

Paul was great to deal with. He was flexible on pick up and drop off times, gave me a good walk through of the trailer as I picked it up and though i didnt need to call him, he made himself available for any questions while we were on our trip. The trailer was perfect, comfortable and no issues at all.

We had such a great time with Ken’s RV. We traveled to Michigan to race our boat on Lake Erie. The yacht club allowed camping and my crew and I decided to do it in style! We were the envy of every other boat. Clean, roomy. AC when it got warm. Furnace for cool mornings. The awning was a great bonus in the afternoon. A short walk to our dock or to the club house locker room. A terrific value. Thanks Ken!

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in LaSalle, ON

How much does it cost to rent an RV in LaSalle, ON?

An RV rental in LaSalle, ON is one of the more affordable ways to explore Essex County and Lake Erie's north shore. On RVezy, towable trailers average around $120 per night, while motorhomes typically run closer to $200 per night, and many hosts offer weekly or monthly discounts. To find a cheap RV rental in LaSalle, try booking mid-week, travelling in May or September when demand dips, or choosing a travel trailer instead of a Class A motorhome. Pro tip: filter by Delivery so you can compare hosts who include drop-off at nearby campgrounds, saving you fuel on top of the nightly rate.

What licence do I need to rent an RV in LaSalle, ON?

Your regular Ontario Class G driver's licence (or the equivalent from your home province, state, or country) is all you need for an RV rental in LaSalle, ON. No special motorhome endorsement or commercial licence is required for the Class B campervans, Class C motorhomes, and travel trailers you'll find on RVezy. Approved drivers on RVezy are generally required to be at least 25 years old, and your ID is verified through the platform during checkout. Visiting from overseas? Pick up an International Driving Permit from your home auto club before you fly into Windsor or Detroit, and you're set to roll across Essex County.

Is protection included with my LaSalle RV rental?

Yes, every RV rental in LaSalle booked through RVezy includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can head down Highway 3 toward Point Pelee with real peace of mind. You choose your coverage level at checkout (not the host), so you can pick the plan that feels right for your family. The protection plan helps cover eligible damages to the RV during your trip and is designed to take the financial stress out of the small stuff, like a chipped windshield on a gravel road near Amherstburg. Combined with included roadside support, your first motorhome rental in LaSalle feels a lot less intimidating.

What happens if I need to cancel my LaSalle RV rental?

You have flexibility on your side. RVezy (not individual hosts) sets one consistent cancellation policy for every booking, which includes a money-back grace period right after you book so you can lock in that summer week at a local campground without overthinking it. The exact refund depends on how far out from your trip you cancel and whether a covered event applies. If life happens, reach out to RVezy support before your trip start date and they will walk you through your options. Booking an RV rental in LaSalle, ON is genuinely lower-risk than most travellers expect.

Can I bring my dog on a LaSalle RV trip?

Absolutely, and Essex County is a wonderful place to travel with a pup. On RVezy, simply tick the Pet-Friendly filter to see every pet-friendly RV rental in LaSalle, ON, then message the host if you want to confirm any details about your specific breed. Once you're on the road, leashed dogs are welcome on most trails at Point Pelee National Park (about an hour east) and on the Cypher Systems Group Greenway running right through LaSalle. Pro tip: pack a collapsible water bowl, because Lake Erie beaches get hot in July and August.

Can the RV be delivered to my campground in LaSalle?

Yes, RV delivery in LaSalle is one of the most-loved features on the platform, especially for first-timers. Many hosts will drive the RV to your campground, level it, connect water and 30/50-amp shore power, and walk you through every system before handing over the keys. Popular drop-off spots include campgrounds across Essex County such as those near Amherstburg, Leamington, and along the Lake Erie shoreline. On the listing page, filter by Delivery and review each host's delivery fee, which is usually based on distance from their home base. It turns a campervan rental in LaSalle into a true show-up-and-relax vacation.

How far can I drive on a LaSalle RV rental?

Pretty much anywhere you want to go in southern Ontario or the U.S. Midwest. Each host sets their own daily mileage allowance (often 150 to 200 km per day), and many offer RV rentals with unlimited mileage, which is ideal for a longer LaSalle RV trip. From LaSalle you can reach Point Pelee National Park in about 60 km, Pinery Provincial Park on Lake Huron in roughly 230 km, Toronto in about 370 km, and Niagara Falls in about 400 km. Check the mileage policy on the listing summary before booking, and if your plans grow, message the host to pre-purchase extra kilometres at a discount.

Where are the best campgrounds near LaSalle, ON?

You have excellent options within a short drive. Wheatley Provincial Park on Lake Erie offers electrical sites tucked into Carolinian forest and easy access to the lakefront. Rondeau Provincial Park, a little farther east, is popular for birdwatching and beach days. Holiday Beach Conservation Area in Amherstburg has waterfront sites with sunset views, and several private RV parks across Essex County offer full hookups, pools, and family amenities. For the best campgrounds near LaSalle, ON, book Ontario Parks reservations five months out through the official reservation system, and call private parks directly for long-weekend availability.

When is the best time for RV camping in LaSalle?

LaSalle sits in one of Canada's mildest pockets, so the RV camping season here is longer than in most of the country. The sweet spot runs from late April through mid-October, with warm summer days from June to August and pleasantly mild conditions well into September. May is famous for the Festival of Birds at Point Pelee, and early fall brings the monarch butterfly migration along the Lake Erie shoreline. Shoulder seasons also mean cheaper rates and quieter campgrounds. For RV camping LaSalle visitors who want fall colour without the crowds, the last two weeks of September are a favourite along the lake.

I've never driven an RV before. Will I be okay?

You're going to do great, and LaSalle is a forgiving place to learn. Roads like Malden Road, Front Road, and Highway 3 are flat, straight, and well-maintained, with none of the mountain switchbacks you would face out west. Every RVezy host gives you a full walkthrough at pickup covering propane, slide-outs, dump valves, the generator, and backing up, and they're a text away during your trip. For your first time renting an RV, start with a Class C motorhome or a smaller travel trailer (under 25 feet) and do a practice loop in a quiet parking lot. Pro tip: avoid the Ambassador Bridge at rush hour and stick to inland routes when you can.

What if something breaks down during my trip?

Breathe easy, you're covered. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the protection plan, so a flat tire on County Road 18 or a dead battery at Holiday Beach is a quick phone call away from help. The roadside team can dispatch a tow, jump-start, tire change, lockout service, or fuel delivery across Essex County and beyond. If something inside the RV acts up (think furnace, fridge, or awning), message your host directly through the RVezy app and they'll usually troubleshoot in minutes since they know their rig inside out. RVezy customer support is also available before, during, and after every trip.

Can I take my LaSalle RV rental across the border into the United States?

Often yes, and LaSalle is one of the easiest launchpads in Canada for a U.S. road trip, since the Ambassador Bridge and Detroit-Windsor Tunnel are minutes away. Cross-border travel must be approved by your specific host before booking because it affects insurance coverage, so message them directly from the listing to confirm and ask about any added fee. Once approved, popular routes include Detroit and the Henry Ford Museum (about 30 minutes), Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio (about 3.5 hours), and Sleeping Bear Dunes in Michigan (about 6 hours). Travel into Mexico is not permitted on any RVezy rental. Bring your passport, vehicle paperwork from the host, and proof of insurance.

How much will fuel cost on my LaSalle RV trip?

Fuel is usually the biggest variable, but it's manageable with a little planning. Expect roughly 12 to 18 L/100 km for most Class C motorhomes around LaSalle, and 14 to 22 L/100 km for larger Class A units. Gas prices in Windsor-Essex tend to track close to the Ontario average, so top up at stations along Huron Church Road or Highway 3 before heading east. A weekend trip to Point Pelee and back (about 130 km round-trip from LaSalle) typically costs around $40 to $60 in fuel. Pro tip: use the GasBuddy app to compare local stations and time your fill-ups when prices dip mid-week.

How far in advance should I book a campground near LaSalle?

Earlier is better, especially for summer weekends. Ontario Parks opens reservations exactly five months ahead to the day through its official reservation system, so for a July long-weekend stay at Wheatley Provincial Park or Rondeau Provincial Park, log in at 7 a.m. on the corresponding February date. Private parks across Essex County often take bookings up to 12 months in advance and fill quickly for Victoria Day, Canada Day, and Labour Day weekends. For midweek stays in May, September, or October, you can often book just a week or two out. Pair your campground reservation with your RV rental in LaSalle on the same day to keep dates aligned.

What are the driving conditions like around LaSalle?

Very RV-friendly, which is part of why so many first-timers choose to rent an RV in LaSalle. The terrain is flat farmland and lakeshore, summer roads are dry, and there are no mountain grades to worry about. Two things to watch for: customs lineups at the Ambassador Bridge can slow you down at peak hours, and Highway 401 east of Windsor sees heavy transport-truck traffic, so plan rest stops at ONroute service centres in Tilbury and West Lorne. In winter (December to March), lake-effect snow squalls can roll in fast off Lake Erie, so check 511 Ontario before any cold-season RV road trip from LaSalle.

What amenities will I find at campgrounds near LaSalle?

You'll be well taken care of. Most full-service private parks in Essex County offer 30 and 50-amp electrical, water and sewer hookups, hot showers, laundry, Wi-Fi, and on-site dump stations. Ontario Parks like Wheatley and Rondeau provide electrical sites, potable water taps, comfort stations, and dump stations near the gatehouse. Many parks also have playgrounds, swimming areas, and rental gear like kayaks or bikes. Pro tip: most LaSalle hosts send you out with full freshwater and empty grey/black tanks, so you can usually skip a dump stop for a 3-day trip altogether.
ontarioparks.ca/camping/services

What's actually inside a typical LaSalle RV rental?

More than you'd expect. Most RVs listed in LaSalle come fully equipped with a queen or king bed, a convertible dinette, a propane stove and oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, a wet or dry bathroom with toilet and shower, air conditioning, furnace, and seatbelted seating for travel. Larger Class A and Class C motorhomes often add a TV, onboard generator, outdoor speakers, and an awning, while campervans keep things simple and fuel-efficient for solo travellers and couples. Many hosts also include linens, cookware, camp chairs, and a starter pack of basics. Check the listing's amenities grid before booking, and message the host if Wi-Fi or a specific feature is a must-have for your family RV trip in LaSalle.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=LaSalle%2C%20Ontario

What add-ons and pickup options should I know about?

Hosts in LaSalle make it easy to customize your trip. Popular add-ons include bike racks, kayak carriers, extra propane, generator hours, linen and kitchen packages, portable BBQs, and outdoor mats. Pickup is usually from the host's home base in LaSalle, Windsor, Tecumseh, or Amherstburg, with most rentals running on a mid-afternoon pickup and late-morning return schedule. If you'd rather skip driving the rig altogether, choose a host who offers delivery and setup to your campground. Mileage policies vary, so check the daily kilometre allowance on the listing summary and ask about unlimited-mileage upgrades for longer routes. Filter by Instant Book for immediate confirmation without waiting on a host response.

How does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

It's straightforward and fully handled through the RVezy platform, so you never hand cash to anyone. When you book your RV rental in LaSalle, ON, you'll pay the rental total plus your chosen protection plan and any host add-ons by credit card. A refundable security deposit is held separately from your booking payment, pre-authorized on your card around the time of pickup, and released after your trip assuming everything comes back in good shape. To avoid issues, complete the pre-trip inspection with your host, take date-stamped photos of the interior and exterior, and return the RV on time with the fuel and propane levels noted in your agreement.

Can I rent an RV in LaSalle in the winter?

You can, and winter RVing on the north shore of Lake Erie is genuinely underrated. LaSalle's climate is among the mildest in Ontario, with January highs near the freezing mark and only occasional deep-freeze nights, so a four-season RV with heated holding tanks, an enclosed underbelly, and a propane furnace handles it well. Filter RVezy listings for hosts who confirm winter use, and ask about skirting, electric tank heaters, and shore-power-only stays if you plan to park at a winterized site. Pro tip: book a delivery host who can set you up on a serviced pad so you avoid the trickiest cold-weather task, dumping tanks in sub-zero weather. It's a quieter, cheaper way to enjoy Essex County.
