RV & camper rentals in Marco Island, FL

RV rental in Marco Island, FL is more affordable than you might think, especially when you compare it to beachfront hotel rates in Naples. Travel trailers average around $120 per night, while motorhomes (Class A, B, and C) average about $200 per night, and most hosts offer 10 to 20 percent discounts for weekly or monthly bookings. Good news: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Marco Island, even for a big Class A motorhome. Florida does not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or any special endorsement to operate a recreational vehicle for personal use, regardless of weight. To book on RVezy, you must be 25 or older with a valid driver's license, and you'll confirm your identity through the platform during checkout. Visiting from outside the US? Bring an International Driving Permit (IDP) from your home country's auto association along with your home license before you fly into Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) and you're ready to roll.

Every RVezy booking in Marco Island includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can focus on sunsets at Tigertail Beach instead of worrying about what-ifs. The protection plan helps cover damage to the RV and gives renters real financial peace of mind. During checkout you choose from different protection tiers based on how much coverage you want, the renter selects the plan, not the host. Pro tip: if you're planning to drive the Tamiami Trail through Big Cypress or tow a kayak, opt for a higher protection tier for extra confidence on Florida's wildlife-heavy back roads.

Booking is low-risk because RVezy (not individual hosts) sets the standardized cancellation policy. Cancellation terms depend on how far ahead of your trip you cancel, and there are added protections for situations like natural disasters, which is reassuring given that Florida's Atlantic hurricane season runs June 1 through November 30. The policy is platform-wide, so you won't see it listed separately on each RV's page. Pro tip: if a tropical storm is in the Gulf forecast, contact RVezy support right away, they'll walk you through your options so your Marco Island RV trip stays stress-free.

You'll get support for issues like flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, fuel delivery, and towing. Your host is also a phone call or message away to help troubleshoot smaller issues like a tripped breaker or stuck slide-out. Pro tip: save both the RVezy support number and your host's contact in your phone before you leave the driveway, cell service can get spotty in the Ten Thousand Islands and parts of Everglades National Park.

Popular extended routes include an RV road trip from Marco Island down to Key West (about 5 hours via the Overseas Highway), up to St. Augustine (about 5 hours), or west to the Florida Panhandle beaches (around 7 to 8 hours). One important note: travel to Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because insurance coverage doesn't extend there. Pro tip: if you're heading to the Keys, reserve a spot at Bahia Honda State Park months ahead, it books out fast for any RV rental Florida adventure.

Fuel is usually the biggest variable cost on a Florida RV trip, but the good news is that Florida gas prices typically sit close to or below the national average. Expect roughly 8 to 10 miles per gallon (mpg) for a Class A motorhome, 10 to 14 mpg for a Class C, 18 to 22 mpg for a Class B campervan, and around 12 to 16 mpg for a truck towing a travel trailer. For a 7-day Marco Island RV trip covering 500 miles, budget around $150 to $300 for gas. Pro tip: fill up off-island in Naples or East Naples where prices run lower than on Marco Island itself, and use the GasBuddy app to find the cheapest pumps along US-41.

Summer and early fall are much more flexible, you can often grab a site a week or two out. Pro tip: if your dates are locked in but sites look full, use a cancellation alert service to grab last-minute openings.

Marco Island driving is straightforward, but there are a few local quirks worth knowing. You'll cross the Jolley Bridge (S-951) to get onto the island, it's a tall, gently arched span with no toll and plenty of clearance for any RV. Once on Marco, roads are flat, well-paved, and lightly trafficked outside of peak season. US-41 (Tamiami Trail) heading east toward Everglades City and Big Cypress is two-lane and famously wildlife-heavy, watch for alligators, panthers crossing signs, and slow-moving vehicles. Afternoon thunderstorms from June through September can dump heavy rain fast. Pro tip: avoid driving the Tamiami Trail at dusk when wildlife activity peaks, and always pull off in a marked area, not the soft shoulder.

Mileage policies typically include 100 to 150 free miles per night, with overage charged around $0.35 to $0.50 per mile. Pro tip: bundle delivery with a generator add-on if you're staying at Collier-Seminole, it makes running the AC at midday far more comfortable.

Payment is simple and secure: you pay for your booking through the RVezy platform with a credit or debit card, never directly to the host. A refundable security deposit is authorized on your card before your trip and released after the RV is returned in good condition, separate from the booking payment. Deposit amounts vary by listing but commonly range from $500 to $1,500. To avoid any deposit hiccups, take time-stamped photos of the interior, exterior, and odometer at both pickup and return. Pro tip: do a final walk-through with your host at drop-off so you both agree on the RV's condition, this keeps your RV rental in Marco Island deposit return smooth and quick.
