This was my 1st time renting an RV. Cathy and Jose were fantastic to work with. From explaining the overall process to an “orientation meeting”, they were so helpful. Weather and traffic delayed my return by a couple of hours. Communication remained open and all was fine. Excellent vehicle and even better support where needed. We’ll definitely keep Cathy and Jose in mind for our next adventure 😉

Our family greatly enjoyed traveling across Florida and back in this spacious, comfortable RV. The owners provided a PDF of the user manual and made themselves available for questions which helped a lot considering this was my first time renting a motor home. It was a very enjoyable experience so we’re looking forward to another RV rental in the future :)

Great trip in Wayne's coach. All amenities worked well. We drove it 1400 miles there and another 1400 miles back! Everything worked as expected and as promised. We got to spend time with our family in Illinois and, even though the weather got cold, we were comfortable. Thanks, Wayne!

What’s the best time of year for an RV trip to Fort Myers?

You’re in for great weather nearly year-round. The prime time for a Fort Myers RV trip is late October through April, when highs range from 74–85°F and humidity is lower: the perfect climate for RV camping in Florida. Is Fort Myers a good place for first-time RV renters?

Absolutely! Fort Myers is a great spot for first-time renting an RV: roads are mostly flat, campgrounds are plentiful, and many hosts offer delivery and full orientations right at the site. RVezy hosts will walk you through all the features and answer your questions, so you feel comfortable hitting the road. Yes, your Fort Myers RV rental is your ticket to exploring beyond Florida: road trips north to Atlanta or west to New Orleans are totally doable! Just check your host’s mileage allowance and make sure your route stays within the US, since Mexico travel isn’t allowed. Want to drive to a special event or family gathering? Message your host before booking for any trip-specific advice or to check about out-of-state adventures.

How much should I budget for gas on my Fort Myers RV trip?

Fuel costs are easy to plan: most motorhome rentals in Fort Myers average 8–12 mpg, while campervans can be a bit more efficient. Gas prices in Southwest Florida are usually a bit lower than the national average: check local updates before you go. For a week exploring local Gulf Coast parks, budget about $125–$200 for fuel, depending on your route. Shorter day trips from Fort Myers can help stretch your gas dollars and maximize the fun.

How far ahead should I book RV campgrounds near Fort Myers?

For the best campgrounds near Fort Myers, like San Carlos RV Park or Koreshan State Park, it’s smart to book 2–6 months in advance, especially for peak winter and spring months when snowbirds flock to the area. ReserveAmerica is the go-to for Florida state parks, while most private parks let you book directly. Set calendar reminders and sign up for cancellation alerts if your dates are flexible!

What should I know about local driving conditions in Fort Myers during my RV trip?

Fort Myers roads are generally RV-friendly: routes like US-41 and I-75 are wide and flat, but do expect some extra traffic during winter and around spring training baseball season. Watch out for summer afternoon rainstorms and keep an eye on low-clearance bridges in historic districts like McGregor Boulevard. If you want to avoid city driving altogether, just choose RV delivery and let the host park your rig at the campground for you.

What amenities can I expect at Fort Myers-area RV campgrounds?

You’ll find a great range of amenities at RV campgrounds in and around Fort Myers: most offer full hookups (electric, water, and sewer), clean restrooms, showers, laundries, WiFi, and picnic tables. Koreshan State Park has shaded sites and kayak rentals, while Gulf Waters RV Resort boasts a heated pool and private lake. For dumping and fresh water refill, most sites have on-site stations or nearby public facilities.

What features can I expect in a typical Fort Myers RV rental?

Most Fort Myers RV rentals come packed for comfort: think queen or bunk beds, a bathroom with shower, onboard kitchen, dining area, USB charging ports, TV, air conditioning, and awnings for outdoor living. Bigger motorhomes and fifth wheels often have generators, slide-outs for extra space, and secure seat belts for everyone. Check each listing for specific features or request add-ons like bikes or beach chairs to customize your Fort Myers RV trip.

What are some popular add-ons and do RV rentals in Fort Myers have extra fees?
