🌄 Our First RV Adventure—10 Days of Fun & Freedom! - This was our very first RV vacation, and while we were a little hesitant at first, Bill made the entire experience smooth and enjoyable from start to finish. He was incredibly helpful—available before, during, and even after our trip to answer questions and offer support. His thorough walkthrough before we hit the road gave us confidence, especially with tips on what to do in different situations. We took the RV for 10 days from South Florida to the mountains of Maryland, stopping at six different campgrounds and even plugging in at my sister’s and in-laws’ homes for a few nights. The RV had everything we needed and was in great shape—clean, well-equipped, and surprisingly easy to drive. We returned it with just a minor hubcap issue and no other problems, which felt like a blessing after such a big trip. We had an absolute blast and would highly recommend this RV to anyone looking for a reliable, comfortable, and fun way to travel. Thanks again, Bill!

Gary and his wife made sure that we would have a great trip. It was super easy to hook it up and the camp grounds. Do I need a special license to rent an RV in Montgomery Village, Maryland?

Good news: a regular Class C driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Montgomery Village for the vast majority of motorhomes and travel trailers on RVezy. Maryland only requires a non-commercial Class B license for vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating over 26,000 pounds, and almost every Class B campervan, Class C motorhome, and travel trailer on the platform falls well under that threshold. RVezy approved drivers are generally 25 or older with a valid driver's license, and ID is verified through the booking flow. Visiting from abroad? Bring an International Driving Permit along with your home license and you are set to roll.

You're sitting at the crossroads of the Mid-Atlantic: easy hops to Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and DC are all standard. Cross-border trips into Canada may be permitted depending on the host and their insurance, so message them directly before booking if Niagara Falls or Quebec is on your list. Fuel is usually the biggest variable cost, but it's easy to plan for. Class B campervans average 18 to 22 miles per gallon (MPG), Class C motorhomes typically get 10 to 14 MPG, and Class A motorhomes run around 7 to 10 MPG. Maryland gas prices generally hover near the national average, with plenty of stations along I-270, Route 355, and Sam Eig Highway near Montgomery Village. For a weekend trip to Shenandoah (about 360 miles round-trip) in a Class C, budget roughly $90 to $120 in fuel. Pro tip: apps like GasBuddy will flag the cheapest stations along your route, and Costco in Gaithersburg often has the best local prices.

How far in advance should I book campgrounds near Montgomery Village?

Booking early is the single best thing you can do for a smooth trip. Maryland state parks like Greenbrier, Cunningham Falls, and Assateague open reservations 12 months in advance through the Maryland State Park reservation system, and summer weekends often sell out within hours of opening. Montgomery County parks like Little Bennett accept reservations through their own system, typically 6 to 9 months out. National Park Service sites like Shenandoah's Big Meadows book on Recreation.gov six months ahead. Private parks like Cherry Hill Park are a bit more flexible. Pro tip: if you strike out on weekends, midweek availability is almost always wide open and quieter to boot.

What's it like driving an RV around Montgomery Village and the DC metro?

It's manageable with a little planning. Montgomery Village itself sits just off I-270, which is wide, well-maintained, and RV-friendly outside of weekday rush hours (roughly 6 to 9 AM and 3 to 7 PM heading toward DC). Avoid the Capital Beltway (I-495) during peak times if possible, and skip narrow downtown DC streets entirely (there are height restrictions in tunnels like the 9th Street and Center Leg). Heading west on I-270 toward Frederick is smooth sailing with gentle grades. Pro tip: if city driving makes you nervous, book a host who offers RV delivery Montgomery Village service and let them handle the wheel while you focus on the fun.

Little Bennett Regional Park offers electric and water sites with a central dump station and bathhouse. Maryland state parks like Greenbrier provide electric hookups at most RV sites plus potable water fill stations and dump stations near the entrance. For boondocking gear-up, propane and fresh water are easy to grab in Gaithersburg. Pro tip: always confirm your campsite's amp service (30 vs 50) matches your RV before arrival, your host can tell you in 30 seconds which one you'll need.

How does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment is simple, secure, and fully handled through the RVezy platform: you never pay a host directly in cash or by wire. You pay your trip total by credit or debit card when you book, and a security deposit hold is placed on your card a few days before pickup, typically between $500 and $1,500 depending on the RV. The hold is released after the trip once the host confirms the RV came back in good shape. To avoid issues, take date-stamped photos of the RV at pickup and dropoff, follow the host's fuel and tank instructions, and stay within your mileage allotment. Pro tip: ask the host to do a quick joint walkaround at return so everyone is on the same page.
