Both he and his wife are lovely people and were incredibly helpful and thoughtful throughout the whole experience from booking through to return. I would highly recommend.

🌄 Our First RV Adventure—10 Days of Fun & Freedom! - This was our very first RV vacation, and while we were a little hesitant at first, Bill made the entire experience smooth and enjoyable from start to finish. He was incredibly helpful—available before, during, and even after our trip to answer questions and offer support. His thorough walkthrough before we hit the road gave us confidence, especially with tips on what to do in different situations. We took the RV for 10 days from South Florida to the mountains of Maryland, stopping at six different campgrounds and even plugging in at my sister’s and in-laws’ homes for a few nights. The RV had everything we needed and was in great shape—clean, well-equipped, and surprisingly easy to drive. We returned it with just a minor hubcap issue and no other problems, which felt like a blessing after such a big trip. We had an absolute blast and would highly recommend this RV to anyone looking for a reliable, comfortable, and fun way to travel. Thanks again, Bill!

The Pleasure-Way Sprinter was spotless, well-maintained, and stocked with everything we needed for a comfortable trip. Hibiscus was amazing! It was nice and clean when we rented it and was fully stocked with everything you would need while camping dished, cookwares, silverware, and even chairs and an outdoor rug! Gary and his wife made sure that we would have a great trip. It was super easy to hook it up and the camp grounds. It drove great and was easier than expected and got even better gas mileage than we expected. I will most definitely be booking with Gary again in the future!

Do I need a special license to rent an RV in Maryland?

Good news: for nearly every RV rental in Maryland, your standard non-commercial driver's license is all you need. The Maryland MVA only requires a Class B non-commercial license if the vehicle's gross vehicle weight rating exceeds 26,000 pounds, which is uncommon for typical rentals like Class C motorhomes, campervans, and travel trailers. To book on RVezy you must be at least 25 years old and pass a quick driver verification through the platform. Visiting from abroad? Bring an International Driving Permit alongside your home-country license. Most first-time renters in Ashton-Sandy Spring are surprised how quickly the paperwork wraps up so they can hit the road.

Is insurance and roadside assistance included with my Ashton-Sandy Spring RV rental?

Yes, every booking on RVezy includes a renter protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can rent an RV in Ashton-Sandy Spring with real peace of mind. You choose your preferred protection level during checkout, the host does not select it for you, so you control how much coverage you carry. The plan covers most damage to the vehicle during your trip. If something unexpected happens, whether a flat tire on Route 108 or a battery issue at your campsite, roadside help is one call away. That lets you focus on enjoying the Patuxent forests and Chesapeake countryside instead of worrying about what-ifs.

What is the cancellation policy if my plans change?

Booking is low risk because RVezy, not the host, sets a consistent cancellation policy across every listing. You get a grace period right after booking where a full refund is available, and additional refund options apply depending on how far in advance you cancel. If a host ever cancels on you, RVezy refunds your booking or offers travel credits. That flexibility matters in the Mid-Atlantic, where a summer thunderstorm or a tropical system can occasionally shift plans. You will see the full cancellation details on RVezy's Help Center before you confirm, so go ahead and lock in your Ashton-Sandy Spring RV trip with confidence.

Little Bennett Regional Park in Clarksburg, about 25 minutes northwest, offers wooded sites with electric hookups and is Montgomery County's largest campground. Greenbelt Park Campground, a National Park Service site close to Washington DC, has primitive sites with a dump station and showers. For a state park feel, Patapsco Valley State Park about 45 minutes north offers riverside sites. Book Greenbelt and Little Bennett at least a couple of months ahead for summer weekends, since they fill quickly.

When is the best time of year to take an RV trip from Ashton-Sandy Spring?

You have three excellent windows for an Ashton-Sandy Spring RV trip. Spring from April to early June brings 60 to 75 degree days, blooming dogwoods, and fresh greenery along Greenbelt Park trails. Fall from mid-September through October is arguably the sweet spot, with crisp 55 to 70 degree weather, vivid foliage in the Catoctin Mountains, and far fewer bugs. Summer from June to August is warm and humid with highs in the upper 80s, great for Chesapeake Bay and Assateague beach trips, just pick a rig with reliable air conditioning. Winters dip into the 30s and 40s with occasional snow, but many hosts keep their RVs available year-round for cozy off-season escapes to Shenandoah or Deep Creek Lake.

I'm a first-time RV renter, how do I know I can handle it?

First time renting an RV? You are going to do great, and you are not alone. Every RVezy host provides a hands-on orientation at pickup, walking you through the propane, water systems, slide-outs, generator, and driving tips specific to that exact rig, usually 30 to 60 minutes. You can message the host with questions before you even book, and many Ashton-Sandy Spring hosts offer delivery so you can skip highway driving altogether. If a Class A motorhome feels intimidating, start with a smaller Class C or a campervan, which drives much like a large van. Plan your first night at a close-by campground like Little Bennett, only about 25 minutes away, so any learning curve happens close to home.

What happens if the RV breaks down during my trip?

You are covered. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the renter protection plan, so help is one phone call away anywhere in the US or Canada. Whether you have a flat tire on I-270, a dead battery at Cherry Hill Park, or a mechanical issue heading to Shenandoah, the roadside team can dispatch a technician, tow service, or jump-start. Your host is typically just a text away for quick questions about the rig's quirks, and RVezy customer support is available before, during, and after your trip. Snap photos of the RV at pickup and save the host's number plus the roadside hotline in your phone before you leave the driveway.

Can I take my RV rental across state lines or into Canada?

Yes, interstate travel is welcome and one of the best parts of an RV road trip from Ashton-Sandy Spring. You are perfectly positioned to roll through Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and New Jersey, with popular destinations like Shenandoah, Assateague, and the Outer Banks all within easy reach. Travel to Canada may be allowed depending on the host and the protection coverage, so message the host through the listing before booking to confirm. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because protection coverage does not extend there. If you are planning a cross-border trip toward places like Niagara Falls, bring a passport and confirm any documentation needs with your host in advance.

How much should I budget for fuel on an Ashton-Sandy Spring RV trip?

Fuel is usually the biggest variable cost, so it pays to plan ahead. Class C motorhomes average 8 to 12 miles per gallon, campervans and travel trailers towed by an SUV get 10 to 15 MPG, and larger Class A motorhomes typically run 6 to 10 MPG. Maryland gas prices recently averaged around $3.10 to $3.50 per gallon, with diesel a bit higher. For a 300-mile round trip to Assateague, budget roughly $90 to $140 in fuel for most rigs. Gas in Maryland is often a few cents cheaper than in DC or northern Virginia, so top off at Costco in Gaithersburg or Wawa stations along Route 108 before crossing state lines.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/

How far in advance should I book a campground near Ashton-Sandy Spring?

Earlier is better, especially in this part of Maryland where campgrounds fill quickly. Maryland State Park campgrounds, including nearby Patapsco Valley and Cunningham Falls, accept reservations up to one year in advance through the Maryland Park Service reservation system, and popular summer weekends often book within hours of release. Greenbelt Park Campground takes reservations on a six-month rolling window through Recreation.gov. Private parks like Cherry Hill Park in College Park typically need 4 to 8 weeks of lead time for peak season. For a Memorial Day, July 4th, or Labor Day weekend trip, set a calendar alert several months out and have a backup like Little Bennett ready in case your first choice is full.
