2023 Coleman Travel Trailer
The camper was clean, comfortable and was perfect for what was needed. They are very accommodating as Greg had to delivery one to a location almost two hours away one way. Then had to turn around and drop off to me which is around an hour. Every thing went smoothly, the generator starts on first pull and was great on gas. We were happy to have the camper on Thursday as it poured for part of the night. In the past when it rained we were in a tent. It was nice to be able to take a shower to get the dust off of me and sweat. Bed is super comfortable and the ac worked well but we only used it for a short time. All in all it was a great experience dealing with them. Will be looking forward to using them again next year.

Matt was incredible from start to finish. Replies almost immediately to all messages and questions from time of booking, leading up to the trip and during your trip. The RV was immaculate on the outside, the entire cabin, refrigerator, bathrooms, etc. And it came with everything we would need for the trip. Was our first time staying in an RV - Matt showed up promptly when he said he would (even earlier), set up everything for our stay and walked me through everything we needed to know to use and enjoy the RV for a week. I would highly recommend Matt to anyone and would certainly book with him again!

The RV is new and very clean. Maxime is a great host, super friendly and understanding when we were a little late to return it. Would definitely rent this RV again. I particularly liked the layout of the bathroom since it can be made into a very spacious bathroom which is rare in an RV. Great experience!

**5 Stars – The Little Ditty Was a Dream!** We had such an amazing experience renting *The Little Ditty*! The RV itself was adorable – clean, cozy, and stocked with everything we needed for a comfortable getaway. Whether we were camping by the coast or tucked into the trees, it felt like a perfect little home on wheels. But what truly made this rental stand out were Ryanna & Derek. They were absolutely fantastic from start to finish – incredibly helpful, friendly, and excellent communicators. They walked us through everything clearly, answered all our questions with patience, and made sure we felt completely confident and taken care of. Their kindness and attention to detail really made the whole experience smooth and stress-free. We can’t recommend *The Little Ditty* – and Ryanna & Derek – highly enough. If you’re looking for a unique RV adventure with awesome hosts, this is the one!

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Gloversville, NY

How much does it cost to rent an RV in Gloversville, NY?

RV rental in Gloversville is one of the most affordable ways to explore the southern Adirondacks. On RVezy, most travel trailers start around $90 to $150 per night, Class C motorhomes typically run $175 to $275 per night, and larger Class A coaches and fifth wheels range from $250 to $400 nightly. You can save by traveling midweek, booking in May or late September after the Great Sacandaga Lake summer rush, and filtering for hosts who include generous mileage. Pro tip: enable the Instant Book filter when browsing cheap RV rental Gloversville options, those hosts tend to confirm fastest and are often flexible on extras.

Do I need a special license to rent an RV in Gloversville?

Good news: for the vast majority of RV rentals in Gloversville, your regular Class D driver's license is all you need. New York only requires a Recreational Vehicle (R) endorsement for personal motorhomes with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) over 26,000 pounds, and nearly every RV listed on RVezy, from campervans to Class C motorhomes and travel trailers, falls comfortably under that threshold. To rent an RV in Gloversville you generally need to be 25 or older with a valid license, which RVezy verifies during booking. Visiting from abroad? Bring an International Driving Permit (IDP) alongside your home license and you are road-ready.

What protection is included with my Gloversville RV rental?

Every RV rental in Gloversville booked through RVezy comes with a renter protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance included, so you can head into the Adirondack foothills with real peace of mind. The protection plan helps cover damage to the RV during your trip, and you choose your level of coverage at checkout, not the host. That means you decide how much extra cushion you want before exploring Great Sacandaga Lake or driving Route 30 north toward the High Peaks. It is not traditional auto insurance, but it is significant financial protection designed specifically for peer-to-peer RV rentals. Pro tip: read the coverage tiers carefully so you pick the one that matches how adventurous your Gloversville RV trip will be.

What if I need to cancel my Gloversville RV trip?

Booking is low-risk: RVezy sets a clear, platform-wide cancellation policy (not the host), and it includes a money-back grace period right after you book so you can lock in your dates without stress. If plans change, weather flips, or a snowstorm rolls through the Adirondack foothills, your refund will depend on how far out from your trip you cancel, and special considerations apply for natural disasters. You do not have to dig through individual listings for the rules; the policy is handled by RVezy directly. Pro tip: book early to secure peak Great Sacandaga Lake weekends, then use the grace period to finalize your crew and route with confidence.

Can I bring my dog on a Gloversville RV rental?

Absolutely. Pet-friendly RV rental Gloversville options are plentiful on RVezy: just toggle the Pet-Friendly filter and you will see hosts who welcome your four-legged co-pilot. Once you arrive, dogs are welcome at Northampton Beach Campground on Great Sacandaga Lake (on a leash no longer than six feet, with proof of a current rabies vaccination), as well as on most trails in the Adirondack Park's southern foothills. Caroga Lake and the southern end of the Northville-Placid Trail are both excellent leashed-dog destinations within a short drive of town. Pro tip: message the host before booking to confirm any breed or size notes, and pack your dog's vaccination tag, it is required at New York DEC campgrounds.

Can the RV be delivered to my campground in Gloversville?

Yes, RV delivery in Gloversville is one of the easiest ways to take the stress out of your first trip. Many RVezy hosts will drive the RV directly to your campsite at Northampton Beach Campground, Caroga Lake Campground, or a nearby private park, level it, hook up power and water where available, and walk you through every system before they leave. That means no towing, no backing into a tight pine-shaded site, and no figuring out the awning on your own. Just filter for Delivery on RVezy when you search. Pro tip: delivery is gold for families and first-time renters heading to Great Sacandaga Lake, you skip the learning curve and start vacationing the moment you arrive.

How far can I drive on a Gloversville RV trip?

Gloversville is a fantastic launch pad for a Northeast RV road trip, sitting right at the southern edge of the six-million-acre Adirondack Park. From here you can reach Lake George in about 1 hour (45 miles), Saratoga Springs in under an hour (40 miles), Cooperstown and the Baseball Hall of Fame in about 75 minutes (55 miles), Lake Placid in roughly 2.5 hours (140 miles), and Niagara Falls in about 5 hours (290 miles). Most RVezy hosts include a daily mileage allowance, and some offer RV rental with unlimited mileage. Pro tip: if you are planning a longer Adirondacks loop, message the host before booking to ask about a mileage package, it is often cheaper than paying per-mile overage.

Where are the best campgrounds near Gloversville to park my RV?

You have genuinely beautiful options for RV camping near Gloversville and the surrounding Adirondack foothills. Northampton Beach Campground on the northwest shore of Great Sacandaga Lake is a local favorite, with a large number of sites, a sandy beach, boat launch, hot showers, and a dump station (note there are no individual hookups). Caroga Lake Campground, about 10 miles northwest, offers wooded and lakeside sites. Private parks like Pecks Lake Campground provide electric sites with a dump station and laundry, and Lake George RV Park is roughly 45 minutes away with full hookups. Pro tip: best campgrounds near Gloversville fill fast, book DEC sites through ReserveAmerica up to nine months out for July and August weekends.

When is the best time of year for an RV trip from Gloversville?

Late June through mid-September is the sweet spot for a Gloversville RV trip, with average daytime highs in the mid-70s to low-80s and warm evenings perfect for lakeside fires. June and early July offer green hillsides; August brings the warmest swimming on Great Sacandaga Lake. The insider season, though, is the last week of September into mid-October, when the southern Adirondack foothills explode into red, orange, and gold foliage and campgrounds quiet down. Winters are cold (January highs around 28 F, lows in the low teens, with significant snowfall), so most local campgrounds operate roughly May through mid-October. Pro tip: target the last weekend of September for peak leaf-peeping after the summer crowds are gone.

I have never rented an RV before. Will I be okay driving around Gloversville?

Yes, first time renting an RV in Gloversville is genuinely beginner-friendly. The roads around town (Route 30A, Route 29, and Route 30 heading north) are wide, lightly trafficked outside of summer weekends, and free of the tight urban driving you get in Albany or NYC. Every RVezy host gives you a full walkthrough at pickup covering driving, leveling, water, propane, and dumping tanks, and 24/7 roadside assistance is included with every booking. If you want to skip driving altogether, choose a host who offers delivery. Pro tip: start with a Class C motorhome or a campervan rental Gloversville option, both drive more like a large van than a bus and are perfect confidence-builders for the Adirondack foothills.

What happens if I have a problem with the RV during my trip?

You are never on your own. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the protection plan, covering tire changes, lockouts, jump starts, towing, and mechanical breakdowns wherever you are, whether you are parked at Northampton Beach on Great Sacandaga Lake or driving Route 30 toward Speculator. Your host is also just a message away through the RVezy app and can usually troubleshoot small issues like a tripped breaker or a finicky awning in minutes. RVezy's customer support team is available before, during, and after the trip too. Pro tip: save the roadside number to your phone before you leave Gloversville, cell service can be patchy once you get deeper into the Adirondack Park.

Can I take my Gloversville RV rental across state lines or into Canada?

Yes, most RVezy hosts in Gloversville allow you to cross state lines, which opens up incredible RV road trip from Gloversville options like Vermont's Green Mountains (about 2 hours east), the New Hampshire White Mountains (about 4 hours), Acadia National Park in Maine (about 7 hours), and Niagara Falls (about 5 hours). Travel into Canada (Montreal is roughly 3.5 hours north) may be allowed depending on the host and insurance, message them directly before booking to confirm. One firm rule: travel to Mexico is not permitted on any RVezy rental because insurance coverage does not extend there. Pro tip: if you are dreaming of a cross-border Quebec loop, ask the host upfront so they can flag any paperwork before you pick up the keys.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validity

What kind of fuel mileage should I budget for around Gloversville?

Realistic expectations make budgeting easy. Class B campervans get the best mileage at roughly 18 to 22 miles per gallon (mpg), Class C motorhomes typically deliver 10 to 14 mpg, and larger Class A coaches average 7 to 10 mpg. Travel trailers depend on the tow vehicle, usually 10 to 14 mpg combined. New York gas prices tend to run a bit above the national average, and you will find convenient fill-ups in Gloversville at stations along Route 30A and in nearby Johnstown before you head into the Adirondacks, where stations get sparser north of Speculator. Pro tip: fuel up before crossing into the Adirondack Park boundary, prices climb and pumps thin out the deeper into the wilderness you go.

How far in advance should I book a campground near Gloversville?

For peak summer weekends (mid-June through Labor Day), aim to book your campground as soon as you book your RV. New York State DEC campgrounds like Northampton Beach and Caroga Lake open reservations up to nine months in advance through ReserveAmerica, and waterfront sites on Great Sacandaga Lake genuinely sell out within hours of opening. For shoulder season (May, late September, early October), two to four weeks ahead is usually plenty. Private parks like Pecks Lake Campground and Lake George RV Park also recommend 2-3 months out for summer. Pro tip: if your dates are locked but Northampton Beach is full, set a cancellation alert, summer cancellations happen daily and you can often snag a lakefront site within a week of arrival.
newyorkstateparks.reserveamerica.com/

What are local driving conditions like around Gloversville?

Driving an RV around Gloversville is refreshingly low-stress compared to bigger metros. Route 30A and Route 29 are well-maintained two-lane roads with gentle grades through farmland and the Adirondack foothills. Heading north on Route 30 toward Speculator and Indian Lake, you will encounter winding sections, modest climbs, and a few narrow shoulders, take it slow and use pull-offs to let cars pass. Watch for deer at dawn and dusk year-round, and expect occasional logging trucks. From November through April, snow and ice make backroads dicey for RVs. Pro tip: when leaving Gloversville for Lake George or Saratoga, take Route 29A east, it is smoother and more scenic than the I-90 detour and adds barely any time.
dot.ny.gov/index

What amenities will I find at campgrounds near Gloversville?

Expect a mix of rustic charm and useful infrastructure. New York State DEC campgrounds like Northampton Beach and Caroga Lake offer hot showers, flush toilets, picnic tables, fire rings, a trailer dump station, and potable water fill-ups, but no individual electric, water, or sewer hookups at the sites, so you will rely on your RV's onboard tanks and battery (generator use is permitted during set hours). Private parks like Pecks Lake Campground and Lake George RV Park provide full or partial hookups, laundry, and Wi-Fi. Pro tip: top off fresh water and dump tanks at Northampton Beach's centralized stations on arrival and departure, it is the easiest way to stay self-sufficient at a hookup-free lakeside site.

What amenities come standard in a Gloversville RV rental?

RVs on RVezy in Gloversville come ready to camp. You can expect comfortable sleeping for 2 to 8 (depending on class), a kitchen with a fridge, stove, microwave, sink, and cookware, a bathroom with toilet and shower in most Class B, C, A, and larger trailers, climate control with furnace and air conditioning, fresh/gray/black water tanks, and seatbelted seating. Many motorhome rental Gloversville listings also include a generator, TV, Bluetooth stereo, and outdoor awning, and some hosts offer Wi-Fi hotspots as an add-on. Pro tip: check the listing's amenity list and photos carefully and message the host with any must-haves (like a specific bed configuration or a generator for boondocking near Great Sacandaga Lake), Gloversville hosts are quick to respond.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Gloversville%2C%20New%20York

What add-ons and pickup options should I know about?

Gloversville hosts offer a great range of extras to customize your trip. Common add-ons include camping kits (bedding, towels, kitchenware), generators, bike racks, kayak and SUP racks (perfect for Great Sacandaga Lake), portable grills, Wi-Fi hotspots, and pet packages, typically priced from about $25 to $100 each. Delivery and setup is a popular option and pricing depends on distance from the host's location. Mileage policies vary: some include a set number of free miles per night, others offer unlimited mileage. Pickup is usually at the host's home in or around Gloversville, Johnstown, or Mayfield. Pro tip: ask for the kayak rack add-on, Great Sacandaga Lake stretches roughly 29 miles and the southern Adirondacks are paddler heaven.

How do payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment is simple and secure: you pay through the RVezy platform with a credit card at the time of booking, never directly to the host, which keeps your money protected. A refundable security deposit is held (typically authorized, not charged) before your trip and released a few days after you return the RV in the same condition you picked it up. The deposit covers things like excessive cleaning, missing items, or minor damage outside the protection plan. Pro tip: do a quick walkaround video with the host at both pickup and drop-off in Gloversville, it takes two minutes, documents the RV's condition, and is the single best way to make sure your full deposit comes back fast.

Can I rent an RV in Gloversville during winter?

Winter RV rental in Gloversville is more of an adventure than a casual trip, but it is absolutely possible with the right setup. Some RVezy hosts in the area offer four-season RVs equipped with heated holding tanks, enclosed underbellies, and strong furnaces, ideal for snowmobiling near Caroga Lake, cross-country skiing at Lapland Lake Nordic Vacation Center in Northville, or watching the Adirondacks turn into a snow globe. Most state DEC campgrounds close from mid-October to mid-May, so plan to stay at private parks that remain open year-round with shore power. Pro tip: filter for RVs with heated tanks, ask the host about cold-weather prep at orientation, and pack extra propane, January lows in Gloversville often drop into the low teens.
