This is the first time I rented an RV and I'm glad it was with this RV owner. He was very attentive to our needs (rained all week/had to leave early due to tropical storm). The only concern I had was with the amount of people it fits...claims it sleeps 8, but really it sleeps 6. The couch bed is very small and cannot sleep two people (unless they are children). The bed (that is made from the table) is super small and really can only fit a small child or pet. The pictures show a blackstone grill but that is not included (no biggie), just bring your own. I would rent from this owner again.

Do I need a special license to rent an RV in Castle Hayne?

Good news: a standard driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Castle Hayne, North Carolina. The state does not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or any special endorsement for personal-use motorhomes or travel trailers, even larger Class A rigs. RVezy approved drivers are generally required to be 25 or older, and your ID is verified through the platform during booking, so there's no DMV paperwork on your end. Visiting from outside the US? What are the local driving conditions like around Castle Hayne?

Driving an RV around Castle Hayne is genuinely beginner-friendly. The coastal plain is flat, roads are straight, and US 421, I-40, and US 17 all handle big rigs easily. A few things to know: the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge into Wilmington has a 13'6" clearance (fine for almost all RVs), and Snow's Cut Bridge into Carolina Beach is wide and modern. Avoid downtown Wilmington's narrow Historic District streets, park outside and walk or shuttle in. Watch for sudden summer thunderstorms (pull over, they pass fast) and stay alert for hurricane evacuation route signs from June to November. Pro tip: stick to the right two lanes on I-40, the left lane gets aggressive near Wilmington exits.

Pro tip: bring a 25-foot sewer hose and a 50-to-30-amp adapter, those two items cover 95% of Cape Fear-area sites.

How does payment and the security deposit work?

Payment is simple and secure through the RVezy platform, no cash, no checks, no awkward handoffs. You'll pay the rental total (nightly rate plus fees plus your selected protection plan) at booking via credit card. A refundable security deposit is held separately and varies by host, typically pre-authorized on your card a few days before pickup and released after a clean return.
