The Salton Sea shoreline provides dramatic, accessible vistas and lakeside pullouts that are drivable and suitable for larger rigs. Wildlife viewing at the Sonny Bono Salton Sea National Wildlife Refuge is reachable by paved roads and offers excellent birding from roadside overlooks. Scenic drives toward the nearby shore communities and art installations give short, rewarding loops that are friendly to larger motorhomes. State Route 86 is the main highway serving the area, offering long, straight stretches and predictable stops for fuel and supplies along the way.
