Gray Peninsula is an easy forested loop that circles the headland at the north end of the park. Routes lead along Shell Beach and around Gray Peninsula, with easy trails that offer spectacular views of the surrounding islands, local marine life and wildlife. bcparks.ca/montague-harbour-marine-park/
Shell Beach is a signature white-shell beach formed over thousands of years of Indigenous harvesting. The white shell beach on the north side of the park marks one of several shell middens that indicate native occupation dating back more than 3,000 years, and wave action crushes and redeposits the shells to create Montague's white shell beaches. A new Shell Beach staircase is in place, giving visitors a more accessible route down to the white shell beach on the north side of the park. bcparks.ca/recreation/marine_parks/
Montague Harbour is a popular launch point for exploring the southern Gulf Islands by kayak. Montague Harbour is both a destination and a starting off point for kayakers wanting to explore the Gulf Islands. Paddlers should be aware of ocean currents and check weather forecasts before heading out. bcparks.ca/montague-harbour-marine-park/
The park offers boat access to sheltered Montague Harbour. This park has a boat launch, located at the north end of the park; follow the main road past the drive-in campsites. The park is a year-round destination for birders. Naturalists and bird watchers enjoy a climate and ecology found nowhere else, making Galiano Island a haven for many rare and protected plants and more than 130 species of birds. The waters around Montague Harbour attract flocks of wintering birds including diving ducks like scoters, buffleheads, goldeneyes and mergansers. bcparks.ca/montague-harbour-marine-park/
A grassy shoreline picnic area anchors the day-use zone beside the boat launch. This park has a day-use/picnic area reached by heading past the drive-in campsites to an open grassy field beside the boat launch, with picnic tables and pit toilets in the day-use area. bcparks.ca/explore//parkpgs/montague/index.html
Anglers can fish the waters around Galiano Island from shore or boat. Saltwater fishing is permitted, subject to Fisheries and Oceans Canada regulations, and visitors should check the current regulations prior to fishing. A permanent shellfish closure is in effect along the south shoreline of the park adjacent to the wharf. bcparks.ca/montague-harbour-marine-park/
A distinctive geological feature sits at the tip of Gray Peninsula. On the northwest edge of Gray Peninsula is a spectacular rock ledge that was carved into rippling patterns by the movement of glaciers thousands of years ago. bcparks.ca/explore//parkpgs/montague/index.html

Montague Harbour Marine Provincial Park, BC, Canada
Access is by BC Ferries to Galiano Island. BC Ferries provides vehicle and passenger service to Sturdies Bay from Swartz Bay on Vancouver Island and from Tsawwassen, south of Vancouver. From Sturdies Bay the park is about 10 km northwest, located on Montague Park Road, with signs directing drivers from the ferry terminal. RV travelers should reserve ferry space well in advance, confirm vehicle length and height limits with BC Ferries, and expect narrow, winding island roads with limited turnaround space; Victoria International Airport near Swartz Bay is the most convenient airport for fly-and-rent travelers.
