Spring and fall, roughly March through May and late September through November, are the most comfortable months for RV camping at T.O. Fuller, with mild temperatures, lower humidity, and flowering or fall-color hardwoods along the trails. Summer is green and fully open but brings high humidity, frequent thunderstorms, and heat indices that can exceed 100 F, so shaded sites and an RV with working air conditioning are important. Winter stays are possible because the park and campground typically remain open year-round, though freezing nights and occasional ice events can affect hookups and road surfaces. Shoulder-season weekdays are the quietest time for RVers looking to avoid Memphis event traffic.

The Discovery Trail is a short interpretive hiking loop through the hardwood forest at the heart of T.O. Fuller State Park. It offers an easy introduction to the park's plants, wildlife, and terrain and is suitable for most ages. Trailhead parking accommodates standard vehicles and smaller RVs or tow vehicles.
Chucalissa is a reconstructed Mississippian-period Native American village and National Historic Landmark operated by the University of Memphis on the park's edge. Visitors can tour the museum, see the earthen mound, and walk the interpretive village site. The museum parking lot can accommodate trucks and most tow vehicles, making it a practical stop during an RV visit.
The park operates a seasonal outdoor swimming pool with a bathhouse during the warm months. It is a popular way to cool off after a humid Mid-South hike. Check current operating hours with the park office before visiting.
T.O. Fuller features multiple shaded picnic areas with tables, grills, and playgrounds spread through the forest. The larger picnic pavilions can be reserved for group use. Paved parking makes these day-use spots convenient for RV families with kids.
The park includes ball fields, basketball courts, and open recreation areas within the campground loop. These amenities give campers on longer stays room to stretch out without leaving the park. Facilities are accessible on foot from most campsites.
T.O. Fuller is one of the closest campgrounds to downtown Memphis, putting Beale Street, the National Civil Rights Museum, and the Mississippi Riverfront within a short drive. Many RVers base at the park and leave the rig to explore the city by tow vehicle or rideshare. Downtown parking for large vehicles is limited, so leaving the RV at camp is recommended.
Graceland, the former home of Elvis Presley, lies roughly a 15 minute drive east of the park on Elvis Presley Boulevard. The site features the mansion tour, museum exhibits, and themed dining. Graceland's main visitor complex provides oversized vehicle parking suitable for RVs.

T.O. Fuller State Park, TN, United States
T.O. Fuller State Park sits in southwest Memphis, roughly 10 to 15 minutes (about 8 miles) from downtown Memphis and Beale Street by way of I-55 and Mitchell Road. From Nashville it is about a 3 to 3.5 hour drive west on I-40, around 210 miles, and from Little Rock it is roughly 2 to 2.5 hours east on I-40, about 140 miles. RV drivers should note that the final approach on Mitchell Road and Riverport Road is a narrow urban and industrial corridor with railroad crossings and some tight turns, so check your rig height and length before turning in, and avoid routing through downtown Memphis during rush hour. The nearest major airport for fly-and-rent trips is Memphis International Airport (MEM), about 20 minutes east of the park.
