Campgrounds and RV parks near Manning, AB

Manning sits along Highway 35 in northwestern Alberta, on the Notikewin River in the County of Northern Lights. The town is roughly halfway between Peace River and High Level on the Mackenzie Highway corridor, which makes it a practical staging point for RV trips into the boreal Peace region and points further north. Most campgrounds within easy driving distance are operated by Alberta Parks as provincial parks or provincial recreation areas, with a small number of privately run options closer to Grimshaw and Peace River. Closest to Manning, Twin Lakes Provincial Recreational Area lies about 65 kilometres north on Highway 35, while Notikewin Provincial Park sits roughly 37 kilometres east at the confluence of the Peace and Notikewin Rivers. Heading south toward Grimshaw, RV travellers will find Figure Eight Lake Recreational Area, The Creek Campground, and Queen Elizabeth Provincial Park along Lac Cardinal. Expect treed boreal sites, vault toilets at most provincial parks, limited cell coverage outside town, and active bear country throughout the region.
