Campgrounds and RV parks near Queen Charlotte, BC

Queen Charlotte, officially Daajing Giids, sits on the south coast of Graham Island in Haida Gwaii, a remote archipelago off the northern Pacific coast of British Columbia. Access is by BC Ferries from Prince Rupert to Skidegate Landing, or by air to the airport at Sandspit on neighbouring Moresby Island, connected to Graham Island by a short inter-island ferry. RV travellers typically stage from the village and drive north along Highway 16, the main paved road linking the island communities. Camping options on Haida Gwaii are limited and largely rustic. Serviced RV sites cluster near Masset at the north end of Graham Island, roughly two hours from the ferry terminal, while vehicle-accessible provincial sites lie on the east coast inside Naikoon Provincial Park. Hidden Island RV and Campground is a family-run RV park in the Masset area used by many visitors as a base for the north end of the island. Beyond serviced campgrounds, Naikoon Provincial Park offers two vehicle-accessible campgrounds and wilderness camping, and Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve to the south is boat and seaplane access only. Cell service is patchy across the islands, so travellers should download maps and confirm bookings before leaving Prince Rupert.

Private RV parks near Masset and Queen Charlotte take reservations directly by phone or email, and summer weekends should be locked in several months out. Booking a spot at Hidden Island RV and Campground ahead of a peak-season visit is standard practice. Provincial park sites cannot be reserved. For Naikoon Provincial Park, including Misty Meadows and Agate Beach campgrounds, sites are first come, first served, with no reservations accepted and a small nightly fee paid in cash on site. Gwaii Haanas requires advance planning. All independent visitors must make a reservation with Parks Canada, pay the visitor use fee, and complete a mandatory self-guided online orientation before entering the park. BC Ferries vehicle bookings for the Prince Rupert to Skidegate route also sell out in peak season and should be secured before finalising a camping itinerary.
