Campgrounds and RV parks near Le Goulet, NB

Le Goulet is a small coastal village on New Brunswick's Acadian Peninsula, facing the Gulf of St. Lawrence between Shippagan and the causeway to Lamèque Island. The village fronts an unsupervised saltwater beach with a picnic area, washrooms, showers, gazebos, an observation tower, and a coastal dunes interpretation site. On 1 January 2023, Le Goulet amalgamated with Shippagan and several local service districts to form the enlarged town of Shippagan, though the community name remains in official use. RV travellers use it as a quiet base for touring the peninsula's beaches, fishing wharves, and Acadian cultural sites. Most RV-friendly campgrounds sit within a short drive along Route 113 or Route 11. Camping Shippagan and Chalets Et Camping Des Iles Jeannot are the closest options to the village itself, while Camping de la Dune Ltee and Camping Colibri sur Mer serve travellers heading toward Lamèque and Miscou islands. Camping Plage Val-Comeau, south near Tracadie-Sheila, is a common overnight stop for RVs arriving from Miramichi. The region has a humid continental climate moderated by the Gulf of St. Lawrence, with cool, sometimes foggy summers and cold, snowy winters. That climate keeps most private campgrounds seasonal, typically operating from late spring through early fall.

Private campgrounds around Le Goulet, Shippagan, and Lamèque handle their own reservations by phone, email, or their own websites. Some also appear on aggregator platforms. For holiday weekends and the last two weeks of July, reserve well in advance, and confirm whether the site has 30-amp service, sewer, and a length that fits your rig. For provincial park sites elsewhere in the province, bookings go through the Parks NB reservation system. Nightly camping reservations for New Brunswick provincial parks typically open in February at 9 a.m. AST, with the exact date announced each winter, and a non-refundable reservation fee applies to each campsite booking.
