Campgrounds and RV parks near Saint George, NB

Saint George sits on the Magaguadavic River in Charlotte County, southwestern New Brunswick, roughly midway between Saint John and the Maine border at St. Stephen. The town serves as a practical staging point for RV trips into the Passamaquoddy Bay region and the Fundy Isles, with Route 1 providing direct highway access and side routes leading to the Letete ferry terminal for Deer Island. Campground options within a short drive range from riverside private parks to island-based provincial sites. Deer Island Point Park is reached via Route 1 Exit 56 onto Route 172 to Letete, then a toll-free ferry to Deer Island, with 79 sites open May through September including tent and electric sites, showers, and a dump station. Herring Cove Provincial Park sits on Campobello Island on the Bay of Fundy and offers 88 campsites, 40 of which have electricity, plus 5 rustic shelters. Closer to town, Island View Camping, Kiwanis Passamaquoddy Park, and Seaview Campground and Cottages give RV renters mainland options without ferry logistics, useful for shorter stays or arrival nights.

Provincial campgrounds in New Brunswick are managed by NB Parks, which uses an online reservation system that typically opens for the coming season in February. Herring Cove Provincial Park sites are booked through that system, and popular oceanfront and electric sites go early for July and August weekends. Pets are welcome and reservations should be made in advance. Deer Island Point Park is operated locally rather than by NB Parks, so bookings are handled directly with the campground by phone. Private options such as Island View Camping, Kiwanis Passamaquoddy Park, and Seaview Campground and Cottages take reservations directly by phone or through their own websites. Book the ferry-dependent parks first, then plan mainland backup nights in case weather or ferry timing shifts the itinerary.
