Campgrounds and RV parks near West Isles, NB

West Isles is a parish in Charlotte County, New Brunswick, covering an archipelago at the mouth of Passamaquoddy Bay where the Bay of Fundy meets the Atlantic. Deer Island is the largest inhabited island in the parish and the main base for RV travellers, reached by a toll-free provincial cable ferry from Letete off Route 172. Camping options within the parish are concentrated on Deer Island. Deer Island Point Park sits on the southern tip near the Old Sow tidal whirlpool, and Seaview Campground and Cottages is close by on the same island. A short seasonal ferry crossing links Deer Island to Campobello, where Herring Cove Provincial Park offers a larger provincial campground with electric and unserviced sites plus rustic shelters. Across the water on the mainland, Kiwanis Passamaquoddy Park in St. Andrews rounds out the New Brunswick options, and Sunset Point RV Trailer Park in Lubec, Maine sits just across the Lubec Narrows from Campobello for travellers combining West Isles with wider Passamaquoddy Bay touring. Cash-only policies at some island parks, limited cell service, and ferry schedules should be factored into any itinerary.

Herring Cove Provincial Park is booked through the NB Parks reservation system at parcsnbparks.ca, which handles all provincial park campgrounds in New Brunswick. Nightly reservations for the full season open in a single launch date in February, and popular electric sites and rustic shelters for July and August often fill within days of that opening. Privately operated parks are booked directly. Deer Island Point Park takes reservations by phone and has operated on a cash-only basis on arrival, with bottled water sold at the office. Kiwanis Passamaquoddy Park accepts phone and online reservations through its own website, and Sunset Point RV Park in Lubec, Maine takes bookings direct. For any island stay, confirm the Letete to Deer Island and Deer Island to Campobello ferry schedules before locking in arrival times.
