Campgrounds and RV parks near Embree, NL

The waters off Embree feed directly into Iceberg Alley, and the drive north on Route 340 leads to Twillingate, one of the most reliable places in the province to spot icebergs and whales from shore. Boat tours run out of Twillingate through the summer season. Closer to Embree, the coastline around New World Island is dotted with hiking trails, sea stacks, and fishing communities worth an afternoon. Dildo Run Provincial Park has a short oceanfront trail with views over the archipelago, while Notre Dame Provincial Park offers a loop around Junction Pond, freshwater swimming, and family day-use areas. Lewisporte, a short drive south, has grocery stores, fuel, marine services, and a small waterfront. Gander, about 45 minutes away, provides the nearest full-service town with an airport, hospital, and the North Atlantic Aviation Museum.

Weather is variable and often damp, with fog, wind, and rapid temperature swings even in midsummer.
