Fogo Island sits off the northeast coast of Newfoundland and is reached by a car ferry from Farewell that runs several times a day. There are no reservations for the Fogo Island ferry; it is first-come, first-served, and drivers are strongly advised to arrive at least an hour ahead of departure. Once on the island, RV options are limited but well located for exploring the coastline, root cellars, and hiking trails. On the island itself, Brimstone Head RV Park in the community of Fogo is the primary RV base, operated by the local Lions Club with most sites offering ocean views. It is the only RV park on the island and sits in a striking location, though amenities are basic. On the mainland side of Hamilton Sound, Dildo Run Provincial Park on New World Island is a short drive from the Farewell ferry terminal, and Peytons Woods RV Park and Campground near Twillingate offers a serviced base for travellers combining Fogo with the wider region. Further along the Kittiwake Coast, Lumsden North Beach Park and Windmill Bight Municipal Park provide additional stops for RV travellers linking Fogo with a central Newfoundland loop.
