Campgrounds and RV parks near Claremont, ON

Claremont sits in the north end of Pickering, within Durham Region in southern Ontario, roughly an hour northeast of downtown Toronto. The village is surrounded by the Oak Ridges Moraine and Ontario Greenbelt, which gives RV travellers quick access to forested private campgrounds, conservation trails, and small lakes without leaving the Greater Toronto Area. The closest full-service options cluster to the north and east. Cedar Beach Park sits on Musselman's Lake in Stouffville, while Grangeways RV Park and Family Campground is in Uxbridge. Ponderosa Campground and Cedar Valley Resort extend the range slightly further, and Bare Oaks Family Naturist Park operates year-round near East Gwillimbury. Most parks in this corridor are private, family-oriented, and heavily seasonal, running from spring through Thanksgiving weekend in October. Provincial park camping is not available immediately in Claremont itself; the nearest Ontario Parks options require a longer drive north or east. For RV renters, the private parks near Claremont typically offer 30- and 50-amp service, water, and sewer or dump-station access.

The private campgrounds near Claremont are booked directly through each operator, not through Ontario Parks or Parks Canada. Cedar Beach Park, Grangeways RV Park and Family Campground, Ponderosa Campground, Cedar Valley Resort, and Bare Oaks Family Naturist Park each handle reservations by phone or through their own websites. For summer weekends, book as early as January or February. Holiday long weekends such as Victoria Day, Canada Day, Civic Holiday, Labour Day, and Thanksgiving sell out fastest and often require a minimum two- or three-night stay. Deposits are usually collected at time of booking, and cancellation windows vary by park. If Claremont-area sites are full, the nearest Ontario Parks campgrounds accept reservations up to five months in advance and include Darlington and Bronte Creek to the south, and Emily and Balsam Lake to the north.
