Aaron Provincial Park features a swimming beach, picnic area, boat launch, fish cleaning station, and dump station, along with a loop trail system near Thunder Lake. On land, boreal forest trails offer short day hikes with mild elevation, and the area is known for wildlife viewing, including moose, black bear, and bald eagles. In town, the Dryden and District Museum and the Max the Moose statue are common stops for families. RV renters passing through often combine a night at a lakeside campground with a resupply run in Dryden before continuing east or west on the Trans-Canada.

Camping and day use at Aaron Provincial Park are open between mid-May and mid-September, and most private lakeside operations follow a similar schedule tied to ice-off and freeze-up on the lakes. July and August are the peak months for warm-weather activities, with long daylight hours and reliable swimming temperatures.
