Campgrounds and RV parks near Neebing, ON

Neebing is a rural municipality in the Thunder Bay District, immediately south of the City of Thunder Bay. It covers a large area of forested townships along the Nor'Wester Mountains and the Pigeon River corridor near the Minnesota border, which makes it a practical base for RV travellers moving between Northwest Ontario and the U.S. North Shore. Camping options in the area range from private RV parks to a busy provincial park campground. Happy Land RV Park offers a straightforward serviced stay, while Kakabeka Falls Provincial Park, roughly a half-hour drive northwest, is the region's flagship public campground on the Kaministiquia River. Thunder Bay KOA Holiday sits just east of the city on the Trans-Canada Highway and is a common overnight stop for cross-country travellers. For trips that cross the border, Grand Portage Casino and the Grand Portage State Forest at Devilfish Lake extend the options into northeastern Minnesota, adding lakeside sites and a full-service resort within reasonable driving distance of Neebing.

Provincial park sites in Ontario are booked through the Ontario Parks reservation system. Sites at Kakabeka Falls Provincial Park are reservable online or by phone, and reservations are accepted up to five months in advance of the arrival date, with new inventory opening at 7 a.m. ET, five months ahead of the start date. Peak-summer weekends should be locked in as soon as the window opens. Private campgrounds each use their own system. Thunder Bay KOA Holiday takes reservations through the KOA website and app, with KOA Rewards discounts available at checkout. Happy Land RV Park handles bookings directly. For cross-border trips, sites in Minnesota's Grand Portage State Forest are managed through the Minnesota DNR, while Grand Portage Casino handles its own RV park bookings. Travellers should carry passports and confirm border-crossing hours in either direction.
