Campgrounds and RV parks near Mount Albert, ON

Mount Albert is a small community in East Gwillimbury, York Region, about an hour north of Toronto and a short drive from the southern shore of Lake Simcoe. The area sits within the Oak Ridges Moraine and Ontario Greenbelt, which shapes the mix of private campgrounds, lakeshore parks, and one large provincial park found within roughly 30 to 45 minutes of town. RV renters have several distinct options nearby. Ponderosa Campground on Highway 48 offers 261 sites including full hookups, pull-throughs, a pool, and a playground, and operates from April 1 to November 1. Grangeways RV Park and Family Campground sits closer to Lake Simcoe. Bare Oaks Family Naturist Park is set in the Ontario Greenbelt and Oak Ridges Moraine and offers electrical hookups, water, pull-through sites, and a dump station suitable for larger rigs. Cedar Beach Park, on Musselman's Lake in Stouffville, is a family-oriented lakeside resort less than an hour from Toronto. Sibbald Point Provincial Park sits on the southern shore of Lake Simcoe, about 70 kilometres north of Toronto, and anchors the public-lands option for the region.

Sibbald Point Provincial Park is booked through the Ontario Parks reservation service. Reservations are accepted up to five months in advance of the arrival date, with new inventory opening at 7:00 a.m. Eastern Time. The park offers car camping, tenting, group camping, and RV sites, with a choice between electric and non-electric sites, and an RV length limit around 32 feet. Note the length limit when booking a rental rig. Private campgrounds handle their own reservations directly. Ponderosa, Grangeways, Cedar Beach, and Bare Oaks all take bookings by phone or through their own websites, and many hold a large share of sites for seasonal renters, which reduces short-stay inventory. Reserve well ahead for summer weekends, especially long weekends, and confirm rig length, hookup type, and pet policies at the time of booking.
