Campgrounds and RV parks near St. Clements, ON

The area is best known for Mennonite country touring, farmers' markets, and Grand River recreation. The St. Jacobs Farmers' Market, one of Canada's largest, is a short drive east and pairs well with village shops, quilt stores, and back-road drives through Wellesley and Woolwich townships. Outdoor options include paddling and tubing on the Grand and Conestogo rivers, cycling the Kissing Bridge Trail, and hiking segments of the Grand Valley Trail. Anglers fish the Nith and Conestogo rivers for smallmouth bass and brown trout. Families staying at Bingemans Campground have on-site access to Big Splash water park, K1 Speed go-karts, Kingpin bowling and arcade, axe throwing, mini golf, and dining. Kitchener and Waterloo add museums, breweries, and the Waterloo Central Railway heritage train through St. Jacobs and Elmira.

The core RV camping season in this part of Ontario runs from mid-May through Thanksgiving weekend in early October. Most private campgrounds around St. Clements open in late April or early May and close by mid-October, mirroring the frost calendar. The average date for the last frost in spring is May 6, frost normally returns on October 2, and the frost-free period extends about 147 days on average. Summer is peak season. July and August bring warm days, festival traffic in Kitchener-Waterloo, and heavy weekend demand at family resorts. Long weekends such as Victoria Day, Canada Day, and the August civic holiday book up first. Family parks like Bingemans commonly require multi-night minimums on weekends and long weekends, so plan trip length accordingly. Shoulder seasons offer cooler nights and quieter sites. September delivers reliable daytime warmth and early fall colour along the Grand River. Winter is cold and snowy across the region, and most campgrounds close entirely, with only seasonal storage and a handful of year-round properties remaining accessible.

Bingemans is big-rig-friendly with 30-amp and 50-amp electrical service, water, sewer, and dump station access, plus tent and trailer sites. Check-in at most Waterloo-area parks is mid-afternoon and check-out is late morning; confirm exact times with the operator. Cell service is generally strong given proximity to Kitchener-Waterloo. Grocery runs, fuel, and RV supplies are easiest in Waterloo or Elmira. Leashed pets are typically welcome, and quiet hours are enforced at most family campgrounds.
