Campgrounds and RV parks near Bearden, AR

Bearden sits in Ouachita County in south-central Arkansas, in the pine woods and river-bottom country of the Gulf Coastal Plain. The area is quiet, rural, and centered on fishing lakes, the Ouachita River, and a cluster of Arkansas state parks. RV travelers typically use the small town as a base for lake camping rather than a destination in its own right. Options close to Bearden run from small private RV parks such as Gator Den RV Park in nearby El Dorado to full-service state park campgrounds. White Oak Lake State Park lies west of town on Lower White Oak Lake, and Moro Bay State Park sits southeast at the confluence of Raymond Lake, Moro Bay, and the Ouachita River. Logoly State Park, an environmental-education park near Magnolia, offers a smaller and quieter footprint. For larger-lake recreation and resort amenities, DeGray Lake Resort State Park lies north near Bismarck, on a reservoir in the foothills of the Ouachita Mountains. Together these parks cover most trip styles, from short weekend fishing runs to weeklong family stays with hookups, marinas, and organized programs.

Arkansas State Parks handle reservations centrally. Sites at Moro Bay, White Oak Lake, Logoly, and DeGray Lake Resort can be booked online at reserve.arkansasstateparks.com or by calling the individual park. Reservations at DeGray Lake Resort State Park and other Arkansas state parks are accepted up to a year in advance, which is worth knowing for summer weekends and holidays. Check-in and check-out are both at 3:00 p.m., and a non-refundable deposit equal to the first night plus tax is required; cancellations forfeit that deposit. Stays are limited to fourteen nights within any thirty-day period. U.S. Army Corps of Engineers campgrounds around DeGray Lake are booked separately through Recreation.gov. Private options such as Gator Den RV Park are reserved directly with the operator, and are often the fallback when state park loops are full.
