Campgrounds near Trumann, Arkansas
Trumann sits in northeast Arkansas at the edge of the Mississippi River Delta, with Crowley's Ridge rising just to the west. RV renters use the town as a base for state parks that cluster along the ridge and for a straight shot down I-55 to Memphis. Most nearby campgrounds are small state park facilities with water and electric hookups; full-hookup private parks are limited but do exist within an easy drive.
Lucky Camper RV Park in Jonesboro is the closest full-service private option, offering pull-through sites, big rig access, water, sewer, 30-amp and 50-amp electric, a dump station, and RV storage. State park camping is available at Lake Poinsett State Park, which has 29 campsites split among 12 Class A, 14 Class B, and three tent sites, at Lake Frierson State Park with seven campsites (five Class B with water and 30-amp electric plus two Class D tent sites), a pavilion, playground, hiking trails, a launch ramp, and fishing pier, and at Crowley's Ridge State Park, which offers 26 campsites split between 18 Class B sites and eight tent sites.
For travelers combining Trumann with a Memphis stop, Memphis KOA Journey in Marion, Arkansas is about an hour south and provides full-hookup sites on the interstate side of the metro.
Things to do near Trumann
Fishing drives most trips. Lake Poinsett is a 640-acre reservoir with relatively shallow waters holding crappie, catfish, bream, and bass, and Lake Frierson covers 335 acres with year-round fishing for bream, catfish, crappie, and bass. Boat and kayak rentals are available at both parks through their visitor centers.
Crowley's Ridge State Park adds swimming and hiking to the mix. The 3.5-acre Lake Ponder has a designated swimming area with a sandy beach and spring-fed water, and the Dancing Rabbit Trail is a 1.25-mile moderate loop that crosses swinging bridges through an eroded gulley near the visitor center.
Families traveling with kids often combine a state park stay with a day trip to Memphis for Graceland, the National Civil Rights Museum, and Beale Street, all accessible from a base at Memphis KOA Journey.

The northeast Arkansas camping season runs long. Lake Poinsett State Park is open year-round, and Lake Frierson and Crowley's Ridge also operate year-round, though some services scale back in winter. Visitor centers generally run daily 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. from March through November, then shift to reduced hours from December through February, with weekend afternoons at Lake Frierson.
Spring is the wettest stretch. The region is fairly wet overall, with a moderate seasonal pattern that makes spring the wettest season, and thunderstorms and tornado watches are common from March into May. Summer brings heat and humidity along with peak family bookings; lake swimming at Crowley's Ridge runs seasonally from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend with lifeguards on duty.
Fall is often the most comfortable window for RV travel, with milder days and lower rainfall. Winter camping is quiet, with occasional cold snaps and light snowfall possible but generally short-lived.
How to book campgrounds near Trumann
Arkansas state parks use a central reservation system operated through the state parks website and ReserveAmerica. Lake Poinsett, Lake Frierson, and Crowley's Ridge all take reservations through this system, and each park also accepts direct phone bookings for last-minute or complex requests.
Standard state park rules apply across the three parks. A non-refundable reservation deposit equal to the first night's non-discounted rate plus tax is required at booking, and cancellations forfeit that deposit. Campsites are limited to fourteen rental nights within a thirty-day period, and both check-in and check-out are at 3:00 p.m.
Private parks such as Lucky Camper RV Park and Memphis KOA Journey book directly through their own websites or the KOA platform. Summer weekends and holiday periods fill first, so booking six to eight weeks ahead is advisable for peak dates.
What to expect at Trumann campgrounds
Sites at the nearby state parks lean toward water and electric only. At Lake Poinsett there are no sewer connections at individual sites, but a dump station is located near the visitor center, and most sites have 30-amp with some 50-amp options. Lake Frierson's Class B sites offer lake views with 30-amp electric, water, a picnic table, grill, lantern hanger, and fire ring; there are no showers or dump station on-site, and ADA-accessible composting toilets are within walking distance. Crowley's Ridge campground is older and lacks sewer, the bath house is clean but dated, and some RV pads can be short, narrow, or off level.
Cell coverage is generally usable across the three state parks, and each has a bath house or nearby restroom. The developed loop at Crowley's Ridge accommodates RVs up to 110 feet, so most rental rigs fit without issue.
For full hookups including sewer, plan on Lucky Camper RV Park or Memphis KOA Journey rather than the state parks.

rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Trumann%2C%20ArkansasDo I need a special license to rent an RV in Trumann, AR?
Good news for first-time renters: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Trumann, Arkansas. The state does not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) for personal RVs, even larger Class A motorhomes you'll find on RVezy. RVezy approved drivers are generally 25 or older, and your identity and license are verified through the platform during booking, so there are no in-person paperwork hassles. Visiting from outside the US? An International Driving Permit (IDP) paired with your home license keeps you compliant on Arkansas roads. Once you're verified, your host handles the rest with a full walkthrough at pickup.

Every RV rental in Trumann booked through RVezy includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you're covered from the moment you drive off. The protection plan helps cover accidental damage to the RV, giving you real peace of mind without arranging separate coverage. During checkout you choose your protection tier (not the host), letting you pick the level of coverage that matches your comfort and budget. It isn't traditional auto insurance, but it's purpose-built for peer-to-peer RV rentals and backed by RVezy's support team. Pick your plan, hit the road, and focus on the fun parts of your Arkansas trip.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat if my plans change after I book?
Plans shift, and RVezy is built to handle that. RVezy (not the individual host) sets the cancellation policy for every booking, which means you get consistent, predictable terms no matter which RV you choose in Trumann. There's a grace period after booking where you can cancel for a full refund, and additional flexibility based on how far out your trip is. You'll see the full policy details during checkout and in your booking confirmation, and if a host ever cancels on you, RVezy steps in with a refund or travel credit. Booking is low-risk, so go ahead and lock in that RV before someone else does.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037736674-Understanding-the-cancellation-policy-for-guestsCan I bring my dog on an RV trip from Trumann?
Yes, a pet-friendly RV rental in Trumann is easy to find on RVezy. Toggle the Pet-Friendly filter and you'll see listings from hosts who welcome dogs (and sometimes cats) with clear pet policies on the page. Northeast Arkansas is a great region for traveling with pups: nearby Lake Poinsett State Park and Crowley's Ridge State Park both allow leashed dogs on trails and at campsites, and the shaded hardwood forests make summer walks much cooler than open Delta farmland. Pack a tie-out, water bowl, and proof of vaccinations. Message the host before booking if you want to confirm size or breed details so check-in goes smoothly.
arkansasstateparks.com/parks/crowleys-ridge-state-parkCan the RV be delivered to my campsite near Trumann?
Yes, RV delivery in Trumann is one of the most popular options on RVezy, especially for first-timers. Many local hosts will tow or drive the RV directly to your campsite at Lake Poinsett State Park, Crowley's Ridge State Park, Perkins RV Park, or even your driveway, then set it up with hookups, slide-outs, and a full walkthrough. That means you never have to drive the rig yourself if you'd rather not. Use the Delivery filter on the listing search to see hosts offering this service, and check each listing for delivery fees (often based on mileage from the host's location). It's the simplest way to enjoy an Arkansas RV trip with zero driving stress.

Winters are cool but RV-friendly, with January highs around 45°F and overnight lows near 33°F. Spring travelers should also watch the National Weather Service for severe thunderstorm alerts.
weather.gov/meg/I've never driven an RV. Will I be okay?
You'll be fine, and you're far from alone: first time renting an RV is the most common scenario in Trumann. Every RVezy host provides a hands-on orientation at pickup, walking you through driving tips, the propane system, water tanks, slide-outs, and the dump procedure. Trumann's flat Delta terrain along US-63 and AR-69 makes it one of the easier places in Arkansas to learn, with wide lanes, light traffic, and no mountain grades. If city driving makes you nervous, choose a campervan or smaller Class C, or book a host who offers delivery so you skip driving the rig entirely. Don't hesitate to message the host before booking with any questions.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039008774-Understanding-approved-driver-requirementsWhat happens if something goes wrong on the road?

If you have a mechanical issue on I-555, US-63, or anywhere on your route, one call connects you with help dispatched to your location. Your host is also typically just a message away for quick questions like operating the awning or troubleshooting the water heater. RVezy's customer support team is available before, during, and after your trip if you need help coordinating anything. Save the roadside number in your phone before pulling out of the host's driveway and relax.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat are the best RV road trips from Trumann?
An RV road trip from Trumann puts the heart of the Mid-South in easy reach. Top routes: head south on I-55 to Memphis (about 60 miles) for Beale Street, Sun Studio, and Graceland; drive west to Mountain View (about 130 miles) for the Ozark Folk Center and Blanchard Springs Caverns; loop down to Hot Springs National Park (about 260 miles) for thermal baths and Lake Catherine; or follow the Great River Road south along the Mississippi to Helena (about 90 miles) for Delta blues history. Interstate travel is allowed by default on RVezy, but travel into Mexico is not permitted. If you'd like to cross into a neighboring state, confirm in the listing or message the host before booking.
nps.gov/hosp/index.htmHow much should I budget for fuel?
Fuel is the biggest variable in your Trumann RV trip budget, so let's get specific. Class C motorhomes average 8 to 10 mpg, Class A rigs about 6 to 8 mpg, and travel trailers depend on your tow vehicle (typically 10 to 14 mpg while towing). Arkansas gas prices typically run lower than the national average, with stations along US-63 in Trumann, Jonesboro, and Marked Tree among the most convenient fill-up spots. For a quick estimate: a 500-mile loop in a Class C using 9 mpg works out to about 55 gallons. Pro tip: fuel up before crossing into Tennessee or Missouri, where prices often jump a few cents per gallon.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far ahead should I book a campground?
For the most popular sites near Trumann, book 4 to 8 weeks ahead, and even further for holiday weekends. Arkansas State Parks (including Lake Poinsett, Crowley's Ridge, and Village Creek) take reservations up to 13 months in advance through ArkansasStateParks.com or by calling 1-877-879-2741. Private parks like Perkins RV Park accept bookings directly. May, June, October, and any weekend tied to a Memphis festival fill quickly, so lock in your campsite before finalizing your RV. Pro tip: weekday arrivals (Sunday through Thursday) almost always have last-minute availability at Lake Poinsett, making midweek getaways from Trumann a smart play.
arkansasstateparks.com/reservationsWhat are local driving conditions like around Trumann?
Driving around Trumann is refreshingly easy for RVers. The terrain is flat Delta farmland, with US-63 (a four-lane divided highway), I-555, and AR-69 forming the main routes, all RV-friendly with wide lanes and minimal grades. Watch for two local realities: spring and early summer bring severe thunderstorms and occasional tornado warnings (always check the National Weather Service Memphis office before traveling), and harvest season (September and October) means slow-moving farm equipment on rural roads. Memphis is only an hour south, but if big-city driving sounds stressful, ask your host to deliver. Crosswinds across open soybean and rice fields can push high-profile RVs, so keep both hands on the wheel on gusty days.
weather.gov/meg/What amenities will I find at campgrounds near Trumann?
Most campgrounds near Trumann offer the full RV experience. Arkansas State Parks like Lake Poinsett and Crowley's Ridge provide 30/50-amp electric, water hookups, hot showers, flush restrooms, dump stations, and picnic tables with fire rings at each site. Perkins RV Park in Trumann delivers full hookups (water, electric, sewer) at all 27 sites. Where to dump tanks near Trumann: state park dump stations are free for registered campers, and Pilot/Flying J truck stops along I-55 offer dump and freshwater fill for a small fee. Most parks allow leashed pets and have decent cell coverage on Verizon and AT&T. Pro tip: bring a 25-foot drinking-water hose and a 30-to-50-amp adapter to cover every hookup scenario.
arkansasstateparks.com/parks/lake-poinsett-state-parkWhat's included inside a typical RV rental in Trumann?
Trumann RV rentals come ready to roll. A typical motorhome rental in Trumann includes sleeping for 4 to 8 (queen bed, convertible dinette, bunk options), a full kitchen with fridge, stove, microwave, and sink, a bathroom with toilet and shower, roof-mounted air conditioning, furnace heat, and seatbelted seating for travel. Most hosts add cookware, dishes, linens, and outdoor chairs. Many listings also feature a generator, propane hookups, awnings, exterior speakers, and TVs (Wi-Fi varies, so plan to use your phone hotspot in rural Northeast Arkansas). Each RVezy listing shows the full amenity checklist, so you can match the rig to your trip and message the host with any questions before booking.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Trumann%2C%20ArkansasWhat add-ons and pickup options can I expect?
Trumann hosts offer flexible options to customize your trip. Common add-ons include linen and kitchen kits ($25 to $75), generator use ($3 to $10/hour), portable grills, bike racks, camp chairs, and propane refills. Mileage policies vary: many hosts include 100 to 150 miles per day, while others advertise RV rental with unlimited mileage (a money-saver for longer routes to Hot Springs or Branson). Pickup is usually at the host's home in or near Trumann, with delivery available to Lake Poinsett, Crowley's Ridge, or your driveway for a per-mile fee. Pro tip: bundle add-ons during booking instead of asking at pickup, it locks in pricing and helps your host prep the rig.
arkansas.com/plan-your-trip/stay/camping-rvs/rv-parksHow does payment and the security deposit work?
Payment on RVezy is straightforward and secure. You pay your rental total (nightly rate, service fee, taxes, and any add-ons) through the platform when you book, using a credit or debit card, with no cash exchanges with the host. A refundable security deposit is authorized by RVezy a few days before pickup and released after the trip, typically within a few business days, assuming no damage or policy issues. Deposit amounts vary by RV but commonly land between $500 and $1,500. Do a quick video walkaround with your host at pickup and dropoff, time-stamped footage on your phone is the best way to ensure a smooth deposit return on your Trumann RV rental.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-worksIs Trumann a good base for a family RV trip?
Trumann is a fantastic launch pad for a family RV trip in Arkansas. The town sits within an hour of Memphis attractions like the Memphis Zoo and Children's Museum, while staying close to peaceful nature stops like Lake Poinsett State Park (great fishing and a playground) and Crowley's Ridge State Park (kid-friendly trails, swimming, and CCC history). On RVezy, you can filter by sleeps count to find rigs that comfortably bunk 6 or 8, and look for bunkhouse travel trailers or Class C motorhomes with over-cab beds, which kids love. Pro tip: pack rain gear and bug spray, the Delta gets buggy in summer, but evenings around the campfire under huge starry skies more than make up for it.
