RV camping near Tyronza, Arkansas
Tyronza sits in the Arkansas Delta in Poinsett County, roughly 45 minutes northwest of Memphis via I-55 and US-63. The town itself has no dedicated RV park, so most travelers base out of campgrounds within an hour's drive that offer full or partial hookups and easier access to river attractions, state parks, and Memphis-area sightseeing.
The closest options span two state park systems and several private parks. Lake Poinsett State Park lies about 30 minutes northwest near Harrisburg and offers a compact, quiet campground on Crowley's Ridge. Memphis KOA Journey and Tom Sawyer's RV Park, West Memphis AR sit south along the Mississippi River corridor and work well as bases for exploring Memphis. Meeman-Shelby Forest State Park, just north of Memphis in Tennessee, adds a heavily wooded alternative with hiking, biking, and disc golf.
Cook's Lake RV Resort and Campground rounds out the nearby choices for travelers wanting a lake-focused stay closer to the flat farmland and cypress bottoms typical of northeast Arkansas.
Things to do around Tyronza
Fishing drives a lot of trip planning in this corner of Arkansas. Lake Poinsett State Park has a launch ramp, boat and kayak rentals, an on-site bait shop, and shorelines that produce bass, crappie, bream, and catfish. The park also has a playground, a heated and cooled pavilion, and short, easy trails suitable for kids.
Meeman-Shelby Forest State Park adds miles of hiking and biking trails through bottomland hardwoods and cypress swamps, a disc golf course, paddling on Poplar Tree Lake, and a nature center. Tom Sawyer's RV Park, West Memphis AR sits directly on the Mississippi with benches along the bank for watching barge traffic, and downtown Memphis, Beale Street, and Graceland are all a short drive across the river.

Spring brings the highest flood risk along the Mississippi River bottomlands. Tom Sawyer's RV Park can close when the Memphis river gauge sustains readings above 31 feet, and while flooding is possible anytime from December into early June, it peaks in April and May. Rises are predictable days in advance through National Weather Service river forecasts, so the park contacts affected reservations ahead of time.
