Campgrounds and RV parks near Immokalee, FL

Lake Trafford is the local anchor. Airboat tours, bass and crappie fishing, and alligator viewing all launch from the water at Lake Trafford Marina Inc. Pepper Ranch Preserve, just up the road, adds hiking, wildlife drives and seasonal hunt access. South of town, the freshwaters of the Big Cypress Swamp support the neighboring Everglades and hold a mixture of tropical and temperate plant communities that are home to diverse wildlife, including the endangered Florida panther. Scenic drives on the Big Cypress Loop Road are a fantastic way to spot wildlife, and Turner River Road is another popular route for alligators and wading birds. Visitors also enjoy off-road vehicle trails, hiking, biking, fishing, and hunting. The Gulf beaches at Bonita, Barefoot and Naples are within about an hour, and Seminole Casino Immokalee sits in town for evening options.

Southwest Florida runs on a two-season calendar. Summers are long, hot, humid, wet, and mostly cloudy, while winters are short, comfortable, and mostly clear. That drives when RV parks fill and when the wild areas are usable. Dry season runs roughly November through April and is peak RV season. Snowbird resorts book heavily, mosquitoes drop off, and back roads in the preserve are passable. The best time to visit is during the dry season, which typically runs from November to April, when temperatures are pleasant and there are fewer insects and mosquitoes. This is also when the National Park Service campgrounds inside Big Cypress operate at capacity: Monument Lake is open August 15 through April 15 with restrooms, drinking water and designated RV and tent sites, and Burns Lake runs the same season, with the strongest demand from December through March. Wet season, June through September, brings daily thunderstorms, high humidity, heavy mosquito pressure and the Atlantic hurricane peak in August and September. Water levels rise across Big Cypress, some backcountry areas flood, and private parks in the Naples corridor see their slowest bookings. May and October are transition months with lighter crowds.

Rig size and type matter here. RiverBend Motorcoach Resort Marina is a Class A-only community with size and age requirements, so confirm eligibility before booking. Sanctuary RV Resort and Crystal Lake RV Resort handle big rigs and pull-throughs, while Lake Trafford Marina Inc is a smaller waterfront property with limited sites. Inside Big Cypress, expect basic amenities at the developed sites and true primitive conditions elsewhere. Monument Lake campground offers restrooms, drinking water and designated RV and tent sites, but no hookups for electricity, sewer or water are available at this campground, and backcountry campgrounds may have only vault toilets or none at all. Quiet hours run 10:00 pm to 6:00 am, and generator use is permitted in designated areas between 6:00 am and 10:00 pm. Cell service is weak once off US 41, so download maps before leaving Immokalee.
