Campgrounds and RV parks near Kenwood Estates, FL

Okeeheelee Park, roughly 1,700 acres just outside the neighborhood, is the closest large recreation area. It offers hiking and biking paths, a golf course, water-ski cable park facilities, and equestrian grounds, which makes it a practical half-day stop for families camping nearby. Coastal options are within a short drive. Public beaches at Juno, Riviera, Lake Worth, and Boynton are all reachable, and the Intracoastal Waterway supports fishing, kayaking, and boat tours. Inland, Lion Country Safari operates a drive-through preserve with more than 1,000 animals plus a walk-through adventure park, and campers staying at the adjacent KOA can purchase discounted admission. Downtown West Palm Beach adds museums, the Kravis Center, and waterfront dining, while the flea market and Latin-American restaurants along Military Trail sit essentially at Kenwood Estates' doorstep.

South Florida has two practical seasons for RV travel. The dry season runs roughly November through April, with warm days, cooler nights, low humidity, and minimal rain. This is peak season across Palm Beach County parks: snowbird traffic fills long-stay sites, weekly and monthly rates dominate, and popular parks such as Vacation Inn Resort and Palm Beach Traveler RV Park book out weeks or months ahead for winter stays. The wet season runs June through early October. Daily afternoon thunderstorms are the norm, humidity is high, and Atlantic hurricane season officially spans June 1 through November 30, with the highest risk from mid-August through October. RVers traveling in this window should monitor National Hurricane Center advisories and keep a flexible itinerary. Spring and late fall are transitional. March and April stay dry but warm quickly, and May sees rising cloud cover. Late November and early December bring the first stretch of cooler, drier weather and the leading edge of the winter booking rush.

Private parks near Kenwood Estates lean toward full-hookup, paved-pad sites with 30 and 50 amp service, laundry, and on-site management. Many are age-restricted or snowbird-oriented, so families should confirm site policies before booking. Lot sizes trend compact, and shade varies: expect palms and open sky more than dense tree cover. The Lion Country Safari KOA offers a different footprint, with full-hookup RV sites, tent sites, and cabins next to the animal preserve. Breed restrictions on dogs and limits on open ground fires are typical at the property, so travelers should review the current rules when booking. Cell coverage and grocery access are strong throughout the area thanks to the surrounding Palm Beach County suburbs, and Palm Beach International Airport is about five miles from Kenwood Estates for guests flying in to meet a rental.
