Campgrounds and RV parks near Lake Clarke Shores, FL

The biggest family draw west of town is Lion Country Safari, a drive-through wildlife preserve, and staying at the KOA offers the experience of camping next to hundreds of animals from around the world. The West Palm Beach / Lion Country Safari KOA Journey sits immediately adjacent to the park entrance. On the water, Lake Clarke and the Intracoastal Waterway support boating, kayaking, and fishing from local public launches. Atlantic beaches at Palm Beach, Lake Worth Beach, and Juno Beach are all within a short drive, and Juno Beach RV Park puts guests close to the pier and the sea turtle nesting shoreline. Downtown West Palm Beach adds dining, the waterfront at Clematis Street, and the Norton Museum of Art. Families staying at Palm Beach Traveler RV Park or Vacation Inn Resort are well positioned for both beach days and city outings.

South Florida has two clear camping seasons. Winter and early spring are peak RV season, with dry air, low humidity, and daytime highs in the mid 70s Fahrenheit. Snowbird demand is strong from January through March, so sites at Palm Beach Traveler RV Park, Vacation Inn Resort, and Del Raton RV Park often fill weeks ahead, and monthly stays commonly book months in advance. Late spring through early summer brings rising heat and humidity. Afternoon thunderstorms are routine through the rainy season from June through September, and the Atlantic hurricane season runs June 1 through November 30, with peak risk in August, September, and October. Some coastal parks tighten cancellation windows during named-storm activity. Fall shoulder season, roughly mid-October through mid-December, tends to be quieter with warm days and easier availability. The most pleasant stretches are the cooler months when weather is mild and comfortable, offering warm days without the intense summer heat.

Sites at nearby parks are generally paved or hard-packed with full hookups. Pull-thru and back-in RV sites at the KOA have full hookups with grass and concrete pads, 50, 30 or 20 amp connections are available, and the park is pet-friendly with a maximum pull-thru of 40 feet. Summer travelers should plan for daily thunderstorms, biting insects at dusk, and strong sun. Winter travelers should expect crowded parks, occasional cool fronts, and busy weekend traffic on I-95 and the Florida Turnpike. Cell coverage is strong throughout the Lake Clarke Shores area, propane is widely available, and grocery, fuel, and RV service options are concentrated along Forest Hill Boulevard and Southern Boulevard.
