Campgrounds and RV parks near Ocean Ridge, FL

The main draw is the Atlantic shoreline. Ocean Ridge Hammock Park and the adjacent Boynton Inlet offer swimming, surf fishing, and jetty views, while the Intracoastal side is used for paddling, boating, and manatee spotting. Loggerhead, green, and leatherback sea turtles nest along this stretch of coast from spring through late summer. Inland day trips are easy. John D. MacArthur Beach State Park in North Palm Beach protects maritime hammock, mangrove, and reef habitat, with swimming, kayaking, snorkeling, fishing, biking, hiking, and guided kayak tours to Munyon Island, which is only accessible by boat. The Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge, west of Boynton Beach, adds cypress-swamp boardwalks and wildlife viewing platforms.

Winter, from December through February, is peak RV season in south Florida. Days are warm and dry, humidity drops, and snowbirds fill private RV parks for weeks or months at a time. Nightly rates rise and monthly sites are often locked in far in advance. Spring, March through May, stays warm with steadily increasing humidity. Sea-turtle nesting season begins in March, and Ocean Ridge, Boynton Beach, and other coastal municipalities enforce lighting rules and beach access restrictions to protect nests. Late-spring afternoons bring the first thunderstorms. Summer through early fall is the Atlantic hurricane season, which runs from June to November. Expect daily thunderstorms, high humidity, and the risk of tropical systems that can force evacuations and temporary park closures. August and September are the wettest months in the Boynton Beach area, with monthly rainfall averaging roughly 180 to 220 mm. Fall brings cooler nights by November and marks the start of the shoulder-to-peak transition for RV parks.

The area is dense suburban coast, not wilderness. Private RV parks tend to be tightly packed, paved or gravel, and heavily landscaped, with full hookups, laundry, clubhouses, and pools common. Many skew adult and retiree, so families should confirm whether playgrounds and kid-friendly amenities are on site before booking. Ocean Ridge's residential streets have strict parking rules, and oversized vehicles cannot stage on the barrier island itself. Plan to park the RV at a mainland campground and drive or bike over the Woolbright or Ocean Avenue bridges to reach the beach. Bring sun protection, insect repellent for mangrove edges, and a plan for summer thunderstorms. Grocery stores, marine supply, and RV service centers are all easy to reach along US-1 and I-95.
