Campgrounds near Port Salerno, Florida
Port Salerno sits on Florida's Treasure Coast in Martin County, just south of Stuart and inland from the St. Lucie Inlet. The village fronts Manatee Pocket, a working harbor known for sportfishing and seafood, and gives RV travelers access to the Intracoastal Waterway, the Atlantic beaches of Hutchinson and Jupiter Islands, and the barrier-island preserves that line the coast.
RV parks in the immediate area lean toward full-service, snowbird-friendly resorts rather than rustic camping. Floridays RV Park and PSL Village RV Park sit within a short drive of town, while Port St Lucie RV Resort, Nettles Island Resort and RV Park, and Ocean Breeze Resort extend the options up the coast toward Jensen Beach and Hutchinson Island.
Public camping options are limited in Port Salerno itself. St. Lucie Inlet Preserve State Park, east of Port Salerno on the northern end of Jupiter Island, is accessible only by boat, and its primitive group camp is reservation-only and open to youth and organized chaperoned groups, so most RV travelers stay in private parks and day-trip to the beaches.
Things to do near Port Salerno
The water is the main draw. Manatee Pocket supports charter fishing, sunset cruises, and waterfront dining, and boat ramps put paddlers and small craft onto the Intracoastal within minutes. St. Lucie Inlet Preserve State Park has a kayak trail through mangrove estuaries and coastal hammocks, with sightings of great blue heron, brown pelican, and white ibis.
Once across the Intracoastal, the barrier island delivers beach time and reef access. An Anastasia rock reef extends 4.7 miles along the coast and up to a mile offshore, with depths from 5 to 35 feet, marking the northernmost range for several South Florida coral species, making it a popular snorkel and dive site.
On the mainland, downtown Stuart is about five miles north with restaurants, shops, and a riverwalk. Jonathan Dickinson State Park to the south adds hiking, the Loxahatchee River, and additional wildlife viewing.

Port Salerno has two clear travel seasons. The area has a tropical climate with hot, humid summers and warm, drier winters, and a noticeably seasonal precipitation pattern with summer the wettest and winter the driest. Winter and early spring bring the mildest, driest conditions and the largest snowbird crowds, so RV resorts near the coast frequently fill from January through March and often require monthly stays during peak weeks.
Late spring is a shoulder window with warm temperatures, lighter rain, and better site availability. From March through October, area beaches are important nesting grounds for leatherback, green, and loggerhead sea turtles, so beach lighting rules and nest markers are in effect during evening walks.
Summer and early fall are hot, humid, and stormy. Late summer and early fall bring an increased threat of tropical storms and hurricanes. RV travelers visiting from June through October should track the National Hurricane Center and confirm cancellation policies before booking.

How to book an RV site near Port Salerno
Private RV resorts in the Port Salerno and Stuart area, including Floridays RV Park, PSL Village RV Park, Port St Lucie RV Resort, Nettles Island Resort and RV Park, and Ocean Breeze Resort, book directly through each property's website or reservations line. Winter sites are among the tightest inventory in Florida, and popular parks often open the following season's calendar months in advance and require deposits for weekly or monthly stays.
For state-park camping, Florida State Parks takes reservations through the FloridaStateParks.org reservation portal, with a rolling booking window that opens up to eleven months ahead for Florida residents and ten months ahead for non-residents. Jonathan Dickinson State Park to the south is the closest state park with drive-in RV sites.
Reservations are required for the primitive group camp at St. Lucie Inlet Preserve State Park, which is only accessible by boat and limited to youth and organized chaperoned groups.
What to expect on the ground
Most RV parks in the area cater to long-stay winter residents, so expect paved or gravel pads, full hookups, pools, and clubhouses rather than wooded or waterfront tent-style sites. Big-rig access is generally good along US-1 and Kanner Highway, though some older resorts have tight interior roads and low tree canopy that can catch tall slide-outs.
Summer brings daily thunderstorms, high humidity, and mosquitoes, especially near mangrove areas. Awnings should be retracted when storms are forecast, and interior AC runs almost continuously.
Beach access from the mainland requires a short drive to Stuart Beach, Bathtub Reef Beach, or Hobe Sound. St. Lucie Inlet Preserve State Park is boat-access only, and Florida state parks are open between 8 a.m. and sundown every day of the year.

You are not locked in the moment you book. RVezy sets a clear cancellation policy that includes a money-back grace period after booking, so if your plans shift you have real flexibility. Cancellation outcomes depend on how far out from your trip you cancel, which is important in coastal Florida during hurricane season from June through November. Hosts do not set the policy, RVezy does, so the rules are consistent across every listing. The full details live on the RVezy Help Center, and customer support is available before, during, and after every trip to help.

floridastateparks.org/parks-and-trails/jonathan-dickinson-state-parkWhen is the best time to take an RV trip from Port Salerno?
The sweet spot for RV camping in Port Salerno is November through April, when daytime highs sit in the comfortable 70 to 80 degree range, humidity drops, and the Loxahatchee River is at its most paddle-friendly. This is also peak snowbird season, so book your RV and campsite 2 to 3 months ahead. May and October are shoulder gems with lower prices and warm Atlantic water. Summers from June to September bring high heat, daily afternoon thunderstorms, and hurricane risk, but RVs with strong AC make beach mornings and indoor afternoons totally workable.
weather.gov/mfl/I've never rented an RV before. Will I be okay in Port Salerno?
You are going to be just fine, even on your first time renting an RV. You can message your host anytime during the trip with questions, and 24/7 roadside assistance is one tap away. Most first-timers in Port Salerno choose a Class C motorhome or a smaller travel trailer for easier handling, then park at a full-hookup spot like Jonathan Dickinson's Pine Grove loop. RVezy customer support is available before, during, and after the trip to help with anything bigger. help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailCan I take my Port Salerno RV rental out of Florida or across the border?
Yes, many hosts allow interstate travel, so a Port Salerno launch point opens up the whole Southeast. Popular RV road trips from Port Salerno include the Florida Keys via US-1 at about 160 miles, Savannah, GA about 380 miles up I-95, Charleston, SC about 480 miles, and the Great Smoky Mountains about 700 miles. Travel into Canada may be allowed with host approval and proper documentation, but travel into Mexico is not permitted on any RVezy rental due to insurance limitations. Message your host through the listing before you book to confirm your route, and you are free to roam.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validityWhat is the realistic fuel budget for a Port Salerno RV trip?
Plan smart and fuel will not bust your budget. A Class C motorhome in Port Salerno averages 8 to 10 miles per gallon, a Class B campervan 16 to 20 MPG, and a truck towing a travel trailer 10 to 14 MPG. With Florida gas prices typically running around $3.00 to $3.50 per gallon, a 300-mile loop to the Keys and back from Port Salerno often costs $90 to $150 in fuel for a midsize motorhome. Pro tip: warehouse club stations in Stuart and Jensen Beach usually beat Turnpike service plazas, and apps like GasBuddy will steer you to the cheapest pumps along US-1.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far in advance should I book a campground near Port Salerno?
For prime spots, the earlier the better. Florida State Parks including Jonathan Dickinson open reservations up to 11 months in advance through the official Florida State Parks reservation system, and weekends from December through March often sell out the same day they open. For private parks like Ocean Breeze Resort or Pitchford's Camp, 3 to 6 months ahead is usually enough. Martin County's Phipps Park can sometimes be snagged a few weeks out midweek. Insider tip: check the reservation site daily for last-minute openings at Jonathan Dickinson, because cancellations pop up almost daily, especially in shoulder season.
floridastateparks.org/learn/reserve-campsiteWhat is it like driving an RV around Port Salerno?
Driving in Port Salerno is one of the easier coastal Florida experiences, especially compared to Miami. US-1 and Kanner Highway have wide lanes, the Roosevelt Bridge in Stuart has plenty of clearance for standard RVs, and I-95 is straight and flat in either direction. Watch for sudden afternoon thunderstorms from June to September that can drop visibility fast, plus snowbird traffic on Federal Highway from January to March. Avoid downtown Stuart's narrow historic streets in a big rig and park near the Witham Field area instead. Once you are rolling, it is a breeze.

Jonathan Dickinson State Park's Pine Grove loop offers full hookups with water, 30/50-amp electric, and sewer, plus a dump station and hot showers. rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Port%20Salerno%2C%20FloridaHow does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?
Payment is simple and secure: you pay through RVezy with a credit card at booking, so there is no cash exchange with the host. A refundable security deposit, typically a few hundred to a few thousand dollars depending on the RV, is pre-authorized on your card before pickup and released after the trip once the host confirms no damage. To avoid issues, take date-stamped photos of the interior, exterior, and odometer at pickup and dropoff, return the RV with the agreed fuel and tank levels, and follow the host's cleaning expectations. Easy steps, smooth refund, no surprises.

A family RV trip in Port Salerno is one of the best setups in Florida. Kids love the Florida Oceanographic Coastal Center on Hutchinson Island with touch tanks and stingray feedings, the calm swimming at Bathtub Reef Beach, manatee spotting in Manatee Pocket, and the easy bike trails inside Jonathan Dickinson State Park.
