Campgrounds and RV parks near South Pasadena, FL

The main draw is the Gulf coastline. St. Pete Beach, Pass-a-Grille, Treasure Island, and Madeira Beach are all within a short drive, with wide sand, calm surf, and public parking lots that generally accept larger vehicles at designated lots rather than on the beach itself. The St. Petersburg / Madeira Beach KOA Holiday sits on the paved Pinellas County multi-use trail, and kayaking around the bayou among the mangroves and wildlife is popular, with rental kayaks and bikes available on site. Fort De Soto Park to the south covers roughly 900 acres on five interconnected islands with seven miles of waterfront and some of the most scenic beaches in Florida. Families also head into downtown St. Petersburg for the Salvador Dalí Museum, the St. Pete Pier, and the Florida Holocaust Museum, all a short drive away.

Peak season runs from January through March, when snowbirds and spring-break families push occupancy at Pinellas County RV parks to near capacity. The St. Petersburg / Madeira Beach KOA Holiday operates year-round, and winter weekends fill weeks ahead. Booking eight to twelve weeks out is realistic for winter stays, and many long-stay guests rebook the same site a year in advance. Late spring and early summer are quieter and warmer, with rising humidity. Summer brings daily afternoon thunderstorms and the highest rainfall of the year, along with the start of Atlantic hurricane season on June 1. Peak tropical activity in the Gulf runs from mid-August through October, and travelers should track NHC advisories and park communications. Late October through early December is a shoulder window with cooler evenings and fewer bugs, though occasional cold fronts can drop overnight lows into the 40s.

RV parks near South Pasadena tend to be flat, paved or shell-surfaced, and closely spaced. Full hookups with 30 and 50 amp service are common, and most parks are pet-friendly with size or breed rules. The KOA has a pool and hot tub area, a playground, mini-golf and on-site store, along with kayak and bike rentals, volleyball, pickleball, horseshoes, and bocce ball. Big-rig access is generally fine on main roads, but some of the older neighborhood parks have tight interior turns. Cell service is generally reliable across Pinellas County, and most parks offer WiFi of varying quality. Mosquitoes and no-see-ums are active from late spring through fall, especially near mangroves at dawn and dusk. Sun exposure is intense year-round, so shaded sites book first.
