Private RV resorts near Tamiami, including Miami Everglades RV Resort and Hollywood KOA, are booked directly through the operator's website or phone line, or through third-party marketplaces. For winter arrivals, reserving three to six months in advance is common, and holiday weeks often require longer lead times. Reservations are required for all campsites at Mitchell Landing, and can be made online at Recreation.gov from one day to six months in advance, or by phone at (877) 444-6777. Everglades National Park campgrounds at Flamingo and Long Pine Key also use Recreation.gov. Check rig-length limits, hookup availability, and pet policies before booking, since primitive preserve sites have no hookups and limited amenities.

Terrain is flat, with sawgrass prairie, cypress domes, pine rockland, and mangrove coastline.
