Campgrounds and RV parks near Readlyn, IA

Readlyn is a small Bremer County town in northeast Iowa, roughly a 25-minute drive from Waterloo and Cedar Falls. That location puts RV travelers within easy reach of grocery stores, fuel, and the larger campground inventory of the Cedar Valley metro area. The closest full-service public option is George Wyth State Park, an urban wildlife sanctuary located between Waterloo and Cedar Falls in Black Hawk County. Private options within short driving distance include Waterloo/Lost Island KOA Resort, Lakeshore RV Resort and Campground, Morwood Campground and Resort, and River Ranch Camping, giving travelers a mix of state-park character and resort-style amenities. Most sites in the area are geared to RV travel, with electric hookups, dump stations, and paved or gravel pads common. The terrain is flat to gently rolling, and the Cedar River corridor shapes much of the local recreation, from paddling on park lakes to a regional trail network that links parks and neighborhoods across the metro.

State-park sites at George Wyth are managed through the Iowa State Parks reservation system. Advance campsite reservations can be made online, the campground is 100% reservable, and a reservation is required. Reservations can be made for today and can be made up to 3 months in advance, so summer weekends tend to move quickly once the window opens. Private parks such as Waterloo/Lost Island KOA Resort, Lakeshore RV Resort and Campground, Morwood Campground and Resort, and River Ranch Camping each take reservations directly through their own websites or phone lines. For holiday weekends and dates that overlap with waterpark or festival traffic in Waterloo, book several weeks out and confirm rig-length and slide-out clearance when reserving.
