Campgrounds and RV parks near Tiffin, IA

Tiffin sits in Johnson County just west of Iowa City and Coralville, placing renters within a short drive of Coralville Lake, Lake Macbride, and the Amana Colonies. The area is flat to gently rolling farmland with pockets of oak and hickory forest, and most campgrounds cluster along the I-80 corridor and the reservoirs to the north. Options range from full-service private parks to state and county campgrounds. A modern campground with full and electric hookups, a shower and restroom, and a trailer dump station sits in the northern unit of Lake Macbride State Park, while Amana Colonies RV Park offers a large full-hookup base near the historic villages. BEYONDER Getaway at Sleepy Hollow provides family-oriented sites just off I-80 near Oxford, Scales Pointe Camping and Boating sits closer to the water near North Liberty, and Cam lo-Dis-E-Ca is a smaller retreat-style campground in Solon. For a more rustic stay, the Primitive campground at Lake Macbride State Park delivers wooded, non-hookup sites in the park's southern unit. Together these options cover most RV needs, from big-rig pull-throughs to shaded tent-style sites.

Iowa state park sites, including Lake Macbride, are booked through iowastateparks.reserveamerica.com or by calling 1-877-427-2757. At Lake Macbride, 100% of the campsites are reservable and a reservation is required, and the Iowa DNR system opens reservations up to three months in advance. Campers may stay up to 14 consecutive nights, after which they must leave the park and remove their unit for at least 3 nights before returning. Private parks handle their own booking. Amana Colonies RV Park takes reservations directly through its website and phone line and is open roughly April through October. BEYONDER Getaway at Sleepy Hollow accepts direct bookings on its site. For summer weekends, book eight or more weeks out to secure full-hookup sites.
