Campgrounds and RV parks near Lyndon, KS

Lyndon sits in Osage County in northeastern Kansas, about 20 minutes south of Topeka on US Highway 75. The town serves as a practical base for RV travelers targeting two Corps-managed reservoirs and their surrounding state parks: Melvern Lake to the southwest and Pomona Lake to the east. Eisenhower State Park, on the north shore of Melvern Lake, provides 163 utility campsites with 126 water/electric sites and 25 water/electric/sewer sites, plus five shower houses, and non-utility primitive sites in Five-Star, Sailboat Beach, and Omaha Swim Beach. The park also offers four modern cabins and two primitive yurts for rent. Pomona State Park sits on Pomona Lake and offers four ADA accessible modern cabins available year-round, along with primitive and utility campsites. Both parks are managed by the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks. Closer to town, Crossroads RV Park and Campground is located two miles north of Lyndon, with Topeka 20 minutes north on Highway 75, offering full hookups, 50-amp service, laundry, and access to the Flint Hills Nature Trail. Mineral Springs RV Park and Homewood RV Park round out the closest private options for RV renters who want simple hookups without a state park permit.

Kansas state park campsites and cabins at Eisenhower and Pomona are reserved through the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks system operated by ReserveAmerica. Reservations may be made up to one year in advance, and all fees are paid in advance. Every vehicle within a Kansas state park must have a valid vehicle permit attached, purchased separately from the campsite reservation. Corps of Engineers campgrounds on Pomona Lake are booked on Recreation.gov, which lists four campgrounds at the reservoir. Booking windows and rules vary by facility, so check each site page directly. Crossroads RV Park, Mineral Springs RV Park, and Homewood RV Park are private and take reservations directly through the campground. Book summer holiday weekends well in advance.
