The RV camping window in eastern Massachusetts is tightly seasonal on public land. The camping season at Harold Parker State Forest Lorraine Park typically runs from early May to Columbus Day weekend, and the Peddocks Island camping season runs from mid-June through mid-October, with sites available Wednesday through Saturday nights in summer and Thursday through Saturday nights in fall after Labor Day. Summer is peak season. July and August bring warm, humid days, active biting insects near ponds and marshes, and heavy competition for weekend sites. Booking well ahead is essential, particularly for holiday weekends and any yurt on Peddocks Island, which tends to sell out quickly. Fall is the strongest shoulder season. Cool nights, low humidity, and New England foliage from late September into mid-October make trips to Harold Parker and the harbor islands especially rewarding. Winter shuts state and island campgrounds, while Spacious Skies Minute Man and other private parks in the region set their own operating calendars, so travelers planning cold-weather trips should confirm dates directly with the operator.

At Harold Parker State Forest Lorraine Park, expect a wooded state-forest layout with hardwood and pine cover. Each site includes a picnic table, fire ring with pedestal grill, and an individual water spigot. Eleven sites feature 20/30/50 amp electrical hookups for RV campers, comfort stations offer flush toilets and hot showers, and an RV dump station is available. The campground accommodates RVs up to 40 feet. Berry's Grove Campground is compact and RV-focused with lake access. Spacious Skies Minute Man is a family-oriented private park with organized activities. Camping on Peddocks Island is primitive and requires planning. On the islands there are composting toilets only, no showers, no supplies, and access to fresh water is available on Peddocks Island only. Pets are not permitted on the islands. RVs stay on the mainland; only tent and yurt camping are available offshore.
