Campgrounds and RV parks near Seward, NE

Seward sits in southeastern Nebraska about twenty miles west of Lincoln, just off Interstate 80, putting RV travelers within a short drive of the Salt Valley Lakes camping circuit. The closest full-service option is Lincoln West KOA, a private park located near the I-80 and Highway 15 interchange with RV sites, cabins, and a swimming pool. Public camping clusters northwest of Lincoln at the Nebraska Game and Parks reservoirs. Pawnee Lake sits about four miles west of Lincoln and is the second largest of the Salt Valley Lakes, and both West Superior Rd - Pawnee State Recreation Area and Lakeview - Pawnee State Recreation Area sit on its shoreline with Electric Plus, Electric, Basic, and Equestrian Basic campsites, water, showers, modern restrooms, and a dump and fill station. South Shore - Branched Oak State Recreation Area sits on the largest lake in the Salt Valley chain and offers Full Hookups, Electric Plus and Electric camping along with Basic campsites. Conestoga State Recreation Area, a reservoir near Denton, rounds out the nearby options with electric pads and basic sites. A Nebraska State Park entry permit is required at all state recreation areas in addition to camping fees.

Reservations are accepted for cabins, lodge rooms, and group lodges up to one year in advance of the arrival date, while camping reservations are accepted up to 180 days in advance, online or by calling the Reservation Call Center at 1-844-637-2757. Not every site is reservable. At Pawnee, reservations are available for 47 of the campsites (sites 22-52) in Lakeview Campground, while all other camping is first-come, first-served and campers register their nightly fees in a raised, locked box called an iron ranger. At Branched Oak, reservations are available for half of the campsites in South Shore and other modern campgrounds during peak season, mid-April to mid-October. Conestoga State Recreation Area operates first-come, first-served with self check-in. Lincoln West KOA is booked directly through the KOA website.
