Campgrounds and RV parks near North Walpole, NH

North Walpole sits on the east bank of the Connecticut River in southwestern New Hampshire, directly across from Bellows Falls, Vermont. The river doubles as the state line, so campgrounds within a short drive span both New Hampshire and Vermont, and RV travelers routinely cross I-91 or the local bridges to reach a site. Crown Point Camping Area lies northwest at Stoughton Pond in Perkinsville, Vermont, set in a mature pine plantation above the water. Tree Farm Campground sits in nearby Springfield, Vermont, and Brattleboro North KOA Journey is south along US-5 in East Dummerston. Bald Mountain Campground occupies a river valley in Townshend on the West River, at the foot of Bald Mountain. Wilgus State Park sits directly on the Vermont bank of the Connecticut River in Weathersfield, the only developed state park on the Vermont shore of that river. Options range from full-hookup private grounds with seasonal sites to rustic state park campgrounds with tent sites, lean-tos, and cabins. Most operate seasonally from mid-May through mid-October.

Vermont state parks, including Wilgus and Townshend, use a single reservation system. Campsites can be reserved up to 11 months in advance on a rolling basis, and same-day reservations are accepted online or by phone until 2 pm on the day of arrival. Bookings are taken through the Vermont State Parks reservation website or by calling the Reservation Call Center at 1-888-409-7579, Monday through Friday, 9 am to 4 pm. Reservations made more than 7 days in advance require a two-night minimum, while one-night stays are allowed within 7 days of arrival, any day of the week. Private campgrounds each run their own system. Brattleboro North KOA Journey books through the KOA website, Tree Farm Campground takes reservations through its own site and by phone, and Crown Point Camping Area uses an online reservation request form or phone. For summer weekends and any date in late September through mid-October, book several months out.
