Campgrounds and RV parks near Center Point, NM

Center Point sits in San Juan County in the Four Corners region of northwestern New Mexico, within a short drive of Aztec, Bloomfield, and Farmington. The surrounding landscape is high-desert country along the Animas and San Juan rivers, with sandstone mesas, irrigated river bottomland, and open sagebrush terrain that has been extensively drilled for oil and gas. The countryside near Aztec is partially farmed using water from the Animas River, while most of the surrounding area is an expanse of dry sandy washes between low limestone mesas. The area's biggest draw for RV travelers is Aztec Ruins National Monument, which preserves ancestral Pueblo architecture on the Animas River and received its name after 19th-century American settlers misattributed the ruins to the Aztecs of Mexico. The monument sits in the city of Aztec, about 10 miles south of the Colorado state line, which puts Durango, Mesa Verde National Park, and the San Juan Mountains within easy reach. RV options nearby range from full-hookup resorts on the river to smaller working RV parks close to town services. Ruins Road RV Park and Campground, Tico Time RV Resort, Moore's RV Park and Campground, Florez Riverview RV Park and Campground, and Florez Riverview Campground are the closest options for a Four Corners trip.
